Yesterdays Sunday dinner, full size pic and on the correct day.

Seem to have lost a day this week.

That cracklin was done to perfection.

Today the wife’s kitchen was closed. Dinner take out from our local Thai restaurant in the Moo Baan. Good food, cheap, Pad Thai Goong and Pad Sai Yu Mu.

^ Yum , Bowie. Looks fantastic.

They say that everyone has one good book inside of them. I reckon the same goes for a meal.

This was mine, it all came together and although I say it meself, was absolutely delicious!

    Enough words...

And not a pea to be seen!

    Button or Champignon?

Is that a sausage complimenting Merlot in the short glass?

This weeks soup is one of my favourites: leek and potato.

    Dinner-20200330-094553-jpg

The pan on the left has the remainder of a chicken stock I made at the weekend with some bones, celery, onions and garlic. Well tasty.

Top with a little bit of grated carrot and it's a simple, healthy starter with lunch or dinner that doesn't take more than an hour from start to finish (no cream because I'm not allowed any at the moment).

Mendip has really really developed in a great way:

I hope his daughter and wife fully appreciate the benefits they are receiving by the plateful due to the insults we threw at daddy/hubby...

^ The wife had jungle curry... but the daughter loves it, so thanks for the insults guys!

A clean plate gets her ice cream for pudding... she even ate a mushroom yesterday.

^^^^ A note to qwerty, they are courgettes.

I'm pretty sure that zucchini are also called egg plants or aubergines, but they are different.

Courgette and zucchini are the same thing. Zuchini originates in italian, while courgette originates from french.

    Egg plant is indeed aubergine.

This evenings meal - Simple, easy and filling. Also quite flavorful.
Spicy chicken, tilapia and leftover soup.

    ^ Betty likes a uniform!

Anyway... it was down to me again tonight and for health I decided to go fish... salmon to be exact but not rod-caught Atlantic salmon. This came out of the freezer at Makro.

Baked in the oven, with baked cheesy potatoes, zucchini AND aubergine! Yes, I live and learn.

Btw, Cheddar cheese on the potatoes, Parmesan on the carrots. Ka na from the garden!

And a milestone moment tonight... me daughter went off to the gardener's house to get me a Hong Thong, on her own! I hate that she's growing up, but this was great... she even put a chunk of ice in it!
