I've only ever eaten fish and chips twice in my whole life; the first time was in Amsterdam, strangely enough.

I'd much rather have a pie or sausage with my chips and peas (and gravy, of course)...

My step brother is a real fickle eater. Has been his whole life. When we were kids he would basically only eat hot dogs and/or mac and cheese. So going out to eat with him is difficult to say the least. I let him pick the place. He chose a large west coast chain restaurant with a dubious reputation at best. But I didn't say anything because well he is picky. So I swallowed hard and resigned myself to the fact that it was probably going to be shit. Turned out to be not half bad.

A full rack of baby back ribs. I do apologize as I pulled off the first rib before I realized I needed to take a pic...

This is the interior of the place. It is huge in there...

Any west coast natives know what this place is?

Kinda hard to go back. I took the bro there once and he asked if the meat was raw because he saw the smoke ring on the ribs. Funny note he could order two sides at both places twice now he choose double fries. I love the guy but he is a weird one.

Never even heard of Claim Jumper. Moved over here 31 years ago. Were they in existence? Oh man the real deal is the real deal. Couple barbecue joints I will be hitting in California when I get home this summer. Beans is a side we always get..

Made up a pizza meal for the wife and I last night. Only got the before and not the after shot as we were starving. Cheese, Dixie sausage, and red bell on the pizza, then home made hot wings as well.

Oh that looks very nice! I bet it was tasty! Do you toss the dough or stretch it on a pan?

You don't ban phones/tablets from dinner tables/when eating?

I am being brow beaten into trying a Northern delicacy, so far i have resisted but i can only hold out so long. A stock image, i have witnessed this in real life and the image does not do it justice.

We do at home, but relaxed when we (occasionally) dine out.

More for us, then them ... we like a leisurely dining ... the boys just woof their food down.

Good to bring their little backpack with their markers, colouring pencils, books, maze print-outs etc.

We tend to do the opposite. On week days, after homework and a swim my daughter gets little enough leisure time, so I often let her eat in front of her computer. If I've made a 'proper' meal I like us all to sit down at a table, but as many people have seen... I rarely make a proper meal!

If we dine out the tablet stays at home... or at least in the car.
