    Good, honest home cooking.

I prefer your Thai offerings though, jack.

Beef winter soup and bread and butter tonight... just the job for a cold night. Was well pissed off, was gonna make dumplings but the ants had nailed my supply of Atora beef suet.

And in light of recent comments, just to show I'm not a one trick pony...

It was Isaan food for lunch. Eggs from the chickens and a pla nin from the pond. And a couple of pretty disgusting concoctions that I didn't enjoy much at all. It wasn't really my cup of tea to be honest.

    The bread looks nice.

^ Personally I don't like the gravy/mash mix ... I like to add the gravy later.

I'm envious that your daughter likes/eats so many veges ... it's more of a battle in my place.

^ There is a very big difference between what starts on her plate and what actually gets eaten!

She told me this morning that two of her three sprouts went on my plate when I wasn't looking, the little bugger.

And at least half of her peas ended up in the chicken bowl.

Jack is doing alright, Mendip really isn't big on presentation...

I did a simple but nice meal; a healthy one.

Some mushrooms and peppers in olive oil:

Cucumber, tomatoes and sweet corn with a bit of mixed herbs:

Mix it all together and eat!

    ^ Very healthy!

    It's a good job I'm thick-skinned.

Seems a lot of my problem is the photography. I'm thinking of treating meself to a new phone for Christmas so hopefully there will be some improvement next year!

I practice the 'Point 'n Click 'n Hope' technique of photography.

Works roughly once in every 40 attempts to produce a reasonable pic.

It helps when your meals are not so bland

Your food is decent, just, you know, not plated as one may like...

Geet yeeself a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 (they do 2 sizes, I got the little one), the shot is framed instantly and a little yellow ball floats around to help you get the best shot (I suspect most/all phones have this function nowadays...

Plenty of vibrancy and colors and contrasts and other photographic references I don't really understand in this lot:

The salmon looks really tasty, but just unbalanced colours at the top of the plate - a bit less green and the food would have tasted better.

Also, interesting to note you're using the classic photographic "law of thirds", and with a creative twist: the bottom third is devoid of content...

Went a bit alternative tonight and thought we'd try a meal without peas... and I had some in the freezer as well!

    It went OK!

TBH even I can see this doesn't look great, but what more can ya do? I can't see why a fancy camera would improve the meal.

Anyhow, two clean plates... and then pudding!

^ I'd be on hunger strike if I had to eat any more of those frozen pizzas topped off with your own "special additions."

Despite the fact you're a blue cnut, CCC, I do admire the way you take it all in your stride and, more importantly, know how to take a joke.

If only a few more were like you on here...

(Lovely dog by the way, but easy on the brown bullet pictures)
