Thought I'd try something different tonight at the Syrian takeaway.

All things considered, it was a bit of a let down.

This was possibly my worst meal so far during six weeks in Norway.

Not so much as lied - just did not know what he was talking about. The fact that he was drunk when his liver was fucked shows he is not the sharpest knife in the draw.

Kidneys filter the blood to produce urine.

A knackered liver cannot clean bilirubin from the blood (a breakdown product of hemoglobin). Normally it binds with bile and gets excreted with stool. One side effect is that if your liver is fucked, your urine is darker, as more bilirubin gets excreted in the urine - but you still turn bright yellow with the excess.

He did his liver 20 odd years ago, taking loads of ecstacy pills and drinking spirits. And puts it down to the abuse but mainly not eating on top of all that. He's mainly a beer and the odd sambuca drinker now. Good bloke really, bit nuts but aren't we all

Tempted with the lamb but that is not christian, So turkey.

The cheeseboard selection with requested blue cheese.

I'd expect the whole menu for that price!

Tonight I played it safe. No more Norwegian pizzas, and I went for a Thai green chicken curry.

Norwegian style, but great. I've been promised beef massaman next week - it's amazing what a few words of Thai can get you.

An extra glass of wine tonight, the clocks go back so an extra hour in bed! It don't get better than that!

Very much cooked. They are potato wedges what we call jojos here in my neck of the woods. I cut them then soak to remove the starch. Followed by dredging them in extra virgin olive oil, pepper and sea salt. Then I put them on a baking sheet and cook in the oven.
