Always enjoy perusing the dinner thread this time of day makes me feel decidedly hungry. Ive about 4 more cans in the fridge just begging to be drank after which i will see what mrs bld has concocted. Probably wont be nothing flash but at least the TD dinner thread has got the juices flowing. Did have a nice Lao meal that her mum cooked last night but forgot to take pics. Oh well. She or me are gonna hafta take cooking lessons before we move to ozzie. Cant be eatin at a resto there everynight

The misses second day off and since we went out for Korean BBQ the night before she decided to make Jambalaya. Andouille sausage, Sea of Cortez prawns, bay scallops, and a chicken thigh all make appearances in the photo above.

The Thai wife second attempt at a Thai classic dessert. Better than the first but need the sticky rice to be a little more sweet and the cream a little less salty. Enjoying being her taster.

.....as well as the sweet sauce being thoroughly cooked by the sticky rice - incorporated, instead of an added layer.

Had some leftover tinned pineapple rings and syrup. What to do? Spur of the moment decision to attempt my first upside down pineapple cake. Made the caramel the rings sit in a bit dry to get a crumbly texture. Nailed it. Looks burnt but isn't. Just enjoyed some with vanilla ice cream. Plenty left to enjoy with coffee over the coming days.

Stopped off on the way home from lunch today and bought some to have with fresh linchee, as it happens.

Delicious with an icy blast of air conditioning.

Took the wife, kids and mother in law out for dinner at a Korean here after my oldest boys graduation last night. Twas fucking good. Can recommend the smoked eel. A first for me but a bit pricey. Forgot to take pictures. Never mind i will go back for more. Was inspired by a utube vlogger who is called mark weins.
