Bloody hell Nigel you do eat well and I notice you are a big fan of orange juice.
I for one always prefer to drink water with a meal as fruit juices does spoil or more so confuse the taste of some dishes.

TBH untill I met my current wife KJ I never drank with meals , infact I drink so little a day so now I am forcing myself to drink i.e.. every meal and I do my best to neck back a litre of water a day .
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs
Did a nice Chicken Tikka Masala with Tandoori Wings last night.
I used one of these little spice packs from Tops and it was probably the best home made Tikka I've ever done.
They've got a Chicken Marsala (Italian) one too that I might give a go tonight.
I am looking at Foodland today, but I sure did not see that on Saturday when I was shopping.
I've only seen them in Tops.
Edit: and Paragon food market.
Or just get the spices separately. The one included that I can never find is Garam Masala.Originally Posted by toslti
In the pack is:
Garlic flakes,
Garam Masala,
Cumin,
Chilli flakes,
Paprika
They've got quite a few I've just found.

I've seen a misnamed Seppo one called 'Curry Powder' from, I believe, McCormick.Originally Posted by The Fresh Prince
There's also a local brand who have black and orange labels called Cooking for Fun who do one called Massala.
This is their curry poweder
How much are those spice packs Princey ?
65bt. So about the same as a pre-made sauce but a lot more flavor.Originally Posted by nigelandjan
Yep I think you're right. I can only find 'Curry Powder' on their site and on the Tikka Masala page Garam Masala is the only one that has no link to it.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

same same me Koojo. I can never recall there being drinks at the meal table.
Imprinted on my brain from my youth were all the TV sitcoms and dramas where the actors would all seemingly have an alcoholic drink as soon as entering the room.
I would only see alcohol in the house around Christmas if I exclude the bottle of (medicinal cough cough) brandy under my grandma's bed.
Pots of tea were brewed on a regular basis and to this day I must have a cuppa after dinner and just before retiring for the night
Sorry for the digression but it struck a chord

What the hell were you doing under your Grandma's bed?Originally Posted by Happy As Larry
I also prefer a nice cup of tea after a meal but it is a family custom here to drink fresh cool water with our meals.Originally Posted by Happy As Larry
Cheers Larry. There's another street near me in Silom next to the Indian temple that sells pretty much everything, but I always forget the spices when I'm buying poppadoms.Originally Posted by Happy As Larry
When a child the school used to provide a bottle of milk every day to each pupil. The milk crates were placed out in the school yard sometime after school started and were available to the pupils to help themselves at breaktime. In winter they were frozen and in summer on the way to being cooked.Originally Posted by SEA Traveler
