    Last night, it was Italian

    Hers: Branzino Al Forno
Mine: Vergara Meatballs (shared)/Tonno Briaco (they should have served it in the pan when it looked more appetizing)
Daughter: Tortellini of Baby Back Ribs
Shared: We didn’t order the squid (in the picture above); or was it on the evenings menu, but they brought it to us to try after our meal. Only one bite was taken. We were all full by that point.

That’s it for nice/r places to eat (maybe one more). The daughter is leaving and it’s back to hole in the walls.

No doubt delicious but don't you think it looks as drab and as boring as, well as drab as a lump of potato can look?

Incidentally, I hope to fuc you didn't pay for that.

Yup, as I said, but do you agree with me it looks worse than school dinners?

What did it cost, excluding the ribena?

^I guess I should have used a paintbrush to apply a swath of sauce underneath the mashed potatoes.

Nope, I've never heard of "Ruth's Chris", mate. a grammatical orgy going on there.

Why do you assume that I could relate?

    Interesting leap into the unknown.

Ahha it's a chain of American steak houses purporting to provide the very best in gastronomic delights.

    Good for them.

Your pics look like a complete rip off, no offense meant,

How so? That's the name of the restaurant. Ruth's Chris.

Why do you assume that I could relate?

Yeah, well you figure that one out yourself.

    Interesting leap into the unknown.
Not unknown to me. If it's not your taste, no need to slag it off.

    Don't be daft, mate.

I posted a comment on the appearance of a dish that you obviously thought highly of.

    Good for you.

As I said I'm sure it was tasty and that's why you paid, what 40 -50 bucks? Something like that according to their website.

    Fine.

But, you can't seriously tell me that you think that the dishes you presented portray any seriously valid, reasonable, justifiable bang for buck.

    It's food, mate, "FOOD".

What are you on about. It's a home cooked dinner. I gave you the Ruth's Chris reference because it is a typical combination that you would get there.

I guess that's just a subjective opinion, mate. I happen to like simple, well prepared food. If it's not fussy and pretentious enough for your tastes so be it.

Nice. Might do some of them during the week.

I'm doing pork tonight, pork loin parmigiana with hasselback potatoes. Dickie inspired.

Fuji has been in Mandalay for a while now so decided to check it out on Thursday. Pretty much the same as Thailand but the staff speak better English. Not so much an amazing meal but it does show that foreign investment is coming pretty quick into Myanmar- at least in the big cities. Last night was Indian food again; Indian Tadka is probably my favorite restaurant in Mandalay now that I have been living here for a year. It was packed last night but the service was still flawless as ever.

^ Usually Villa or Tops, they're both near us. Other wise the Lotat Expreth at the front of the village.

Last Tuesday it was Japanese BBQ

It's an all you can eat deal for around 12-18 USD depending on the package you select. Beers are cheap and ice cold.
