Various meals over the weekend... so much for Kiwi summer... crap rainy weather...
Dill, looks lovely in his pink nighty - given my lovable stalker a stiffy, I'm sure...
Missus grabbed the Spinach wraps...I thought they would taste 'orrible, like ummm 'spinach'... turned out to be a smart choice...
Might use that Jap zesty sauce - over the mushroom sauce - next time... really good with steak.
If you haven't already tried it, you should! Japanese Curry... very, very, yummy!

Indian Monday here again. On the back of last week's dal success, I've got a South Indian beef curry on the go.
Nice. Stick up yer pics and recipe if you get the chance. Me imaginary friends are coming again on Saturday.

Check the spices for the dal last week (cumim seeds, powder, coriander, turmeric, chili, garam masala) and fresh ginger and garlic. These can be adapted but the core tend to remain.
Two things you need to do for a proper Indian curry are to cook the onions until they're very dark and stir like fuck once your tomatoes are in.
You'll also see my previous posts for lamb curry recipes.

Stir fry your onions, potatoes, carrots in a little olive oil (any other greens you want to add) then add use 700 cc of water to half a cube of curry.
Boil for 10 mins - reduce temp to low... at least 1 hour (longer the stronger the flavor)...
Even better heated up the next day.
^ And that's probably why you're getting heart attacks at the age of 40, you clueless fuckwit.

I tried one of those Japanese curry packet thingies last year. It was OK so long as you only expect a Japanese curry packet tasting thingy. Quick and easy. But not really cheap. Not a touch on a real Indian/British copy curry or a home made Luigio mealio , but OK for a quick meal in Thailand, na.
