I've never really acquired a hankering for Indian curry but would give it a try if there was something to wash it down with. Fresh fruit is always nice. Can eat that all day long.

This is what I had for dinner last evening, Wednesday, 14 Sep 2011. First, just a little background and the way I like to make my Philly Cheese Steak.

Philly Cheese Steak: Being from Pennsylvania, home of the Philly Cheese Steak,I’ve become very critical of attempts to simulate the Philly Cheese Steak. There are many impostors out there so one has to be careful. Or maybe I’m just being to critical. Oh, what the heck, I like Philly Cheese Steaks and this is how I make mine.

    - Thinly sliced (about a millimeter think) rib eye steak. About 5 slices will do the trick. It can be bought sliced and then frozen for when every you need it.
    - 1 onion sliced. Don’t chop up onion into little pieces.
    - fresh sub roll.
    - slice of cheese
    - tomato
    - lettuce
    - dried crushed red pepper
    - dried Italian seasoning
    - black pepper
    - garlic salt
    - spicy tomato catchup
    - if there is something else that is appealing to you have it handy and add as desired.

I place a little garlic salt in the bottom of an ungreased frying pan to season the frying pan as well as the meat. Add the sliced onions and beef rib eye slices. Mix the onions and meat while frying over medium low heat. Do not over fry as the meat will get dried out.

Place a slice of cheese over top of the almost completely fried slices of rib eye & onion mix. You can turn the heat off at this time and the residual heat will allow the cheese to melt into the meat and onion mix. Note that i only have cheese on 1/2 of the meat mix and that is because Mrs ST doesn't care for cheese so she is not having a Philly "Cheese" Steak..... she only gets a Philly Steak!!!!!!

Prepare the roll. I like to put my sliced roll in the toaster oven for about 1 min just so it is slight crusty on the outside but still soft in the middle.

Add thinly sliced tomato and chopped lettuce into the toasted roll.

Put a couple shakes of the dried crushed red pepper in the onion/meat mix that is now topped with melting cheese then place a generous portion of the meat mix from the frying pan into the toasted sub roll. Spice with the dried Italian Spices when in the roll.

Put some of the spicy tomato catchup on top and your good to go.

Best eaten while meat is still warm and with either french fries (chips) or potato chips.

the fact that it is made to one's individual taste allows it to be that much better. In my case, if any one of the ingredients is taken out, in my book, it just isn't the same Philly Cheese Steak.

    thanks for the complement.

On the surface that sounds a good idea ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, however having a nice young lady from Trat that I once knew beside me in the kitchen could cause friction , to say the least .

Jokin ,,,,,,,,,thanks for taking the time to post yet another winner !

No pics of last evenings dinner, but here is a picture of the late dessert I made for myself.

Chocolate butter cake topped with chocolate ice cream and 2 sliced bananas. Wow did that hit the spot. I slept well last night.
