    7 Oct 2012: It has been a while since I posted one of my "dinner" meals to my own thread here but it wasn't for the lack of cooking. It has mostly been a failure on my part to just take the photos.

    Anyway, today for "dinner" I made some "Cajan Mashed Potatoes" with onion/mushroom gravy and boneless chicken breasts with "Spicy Montreal" dry rub. A superb meal that really hit the spot. and thankfully there is enough left over for a snack later this evening.

    Yummy, looks like what I call a man's meals. The kids would love it. No veggies to get in the way of the chicken mash, and gravy.

    Here are the vegies in the salad that I had forgotten about. Maybe less appealing now?

    It wasn’t until I was finished with my meal and putting left overs into the fridge when I saw the salad I made but forgot it was there. So, I decided to eat it then and there.



    As simple salad of some kind of Thai green lettuce, a bunch of sliced tomatoes wedges, sliced cucumber, and some thinly sliced onions all topped with some bacon bits and the infamous Olive Garden Italian dressing which we brought back to Thailand from our last trip to the States.

    you hit the nail on the head with the salad. We all love a salad like that, and finally their tastebuds have evolved into really liking a nice Italian dressing.

    Looks yummy mate I'm gonna be doing the same today ,, I see only breast meat on your plate I'm guessing you have a Thai mrs like me who wants to gnaw away at the wings / parsons nose / and all the grisly bits on the legs

    ^ Thanks AO, I haven't been cooking for long so I'm still experimenting and trying to get things right.

    ^^ Yes mate, I normally just make a small portion as the missus doesn't like it, that's just 1 corner of it there. The rest I'll save for my sandwiches tomo with some of the breast meat I keep aside topped with a lovely cranberry and port sauce.

    Oh and I eat horseradish and cheese sandwiches, give it a try

    What ever works for a fine tasting meal. Personally, I could do without the peas. Never did care for them and never will.

    Nice bit of roast chicken + baked potatoes + the last veg out me garden + garlic buttered mushrooms .

    The wifes platter



    Had some bananas going over ripe so I thought I'd use the remaining york pud batter on em + some vanilla ice-cream + syrup ,,,,,get in you fat bassa !!!!!!!

    Was still a bit hungry after so followed it up with some eggs on toast, In hindsight I should have just combined them
