They look like TESCO frozen roast potatoes to me. If so, they are dreadful. Anyway, one should not have roast potatoes with pork. Also, no Yorkshire either.

My wife rushed a dinner for me a couple of days before she went to Toytown to see her mother. TESCO potatoes and pork that was not stuffed. She made stuffing but had seen the Mickey Mouse stuff served in TESCO "cafes" and cooked the stuffing, outside the meat, in the fat which cooked the meat. The result was disgusting.

Ordinarily, her "hot dinners" are fantastic. We buy top quality beef but, even so, she has a way of cooking it which makes it tender beyond belief. ( We always have our meat well done so we would definitely not pass the traditional test of beef being cooked on the outside but nearly rare inside. )

It's astonishing how Thai ladies can make our traditional food so well. My mother was a superb cook of traditional Welsh cooking but, I have to admit, that my wife has made beef dinners which are even better than those that she made.

My post is made not so much as a criticism as a warning. I have been very spoiled with good food all my life and I am sure that Ian's wife does great stuff. It is necessary, however, to point out when things go wrong. If you don't say something is awful, the cook can never really appreciate when you compliment her when she has done something spectacularly well. If I say something is "great", I really mean it. I'm a useless liar and she knows that something is wrong immediately by my manner which I cannot hide.

My wife cooks Thai food brilliantly. My mother was one one of the finest pastry cooks on the planet. Her sponge cakes were as light as a feather. My wife's efforts could easily be used to ram fence posts into the ground.

Having reread what I have written above, I seem to come over as a spoiled brat. I am. I have been lucky enough to have had food of the highest standard all my life and I know I have been very, very lucky.
Why can't I make new posts?

    Nice.

I had the Curry Leaf one.

Just fried the chicken in a spice mix of chili powder, paprika, cumin, coriander powder, garlic powder and pepper first.

Good for when you're too lazy to actually cook something.

Those Asian Home Gourmet ones are really good actually.

I haven't used one in a while though due to laziness.

Jans cooking again tonight after an 11 hour day she knocked up a bit of chicken liver in ginger sauce + stir fry veg + steamed rice + the traditional fried egg looped on the top ,, I remember Gordon Ramsey exclaiming WTF is that ?? on his Thai travels when he was doing some street food ,,,,,only to be singing its virtues afterwards

Anyway chicken livers here cost 50p for two of us ,, so a cheap and tasty meal

I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

    Pad Prik Gaeng.

Followed by her walking to the shop to buy me a magnum in order bring my tongue temperature down to something that doesn't melt cutlery.

Thanks. Its something I enjoy playing around with.

Should really get myself a real camera as opposed to the little point n shoot.

Although, (and this is coming from someone who knows bugger all about photography and cameras), little point and shoots seem to have come on in leaps and bounds in terms of quality over the last few years.

That's a good point actually. I have been lazy and use my phone to take most of the photos. If I use my point and shoot (a samsung st550) I stand more chance of a decent shot.

I wouldn't mind taking up a photography course at some point. I love taking photos but I'm just useless. Don't have the 'eye' for it I guess.

I've been downloading Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course and decided to cook the first recipe off the first show.

Pan Fried Pork Chop with Sweet & Sour Peppers. I added whole grain mustard mash.

I'd not cooked a pork chop in the pan before and I was having mini orgasms for about an hour after eating it.

You can watch the episode here: Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course - Series 1 - Episode 1 - Getting Started - Channel 4

Or just download them from pirate bay.

I have been doing the same and saving them. I think we are up to episode 18 now.

As much as I love to hate him, he is a great cook and gives some really helpful easy to follow tips.

I am western. The maid cooks 2 or 3 times a week or we get a take away. She cant cook like the wife at all, but tries. My loving wife is just too busy to cook other than a couple of killer times a month. The girls prefer western food. Tonight is a fry up. Cajun spiced fried shrimp and french fries. No salad. But a great home made tarter sauce I got from a friend.

Came home to a gem tonight ,, in a previous life I wouldn't have said thank you for spaghetti ,, however my other half , bless her has converted me .

She has made a complete delicious home made sauce and made some mixture to put into the meatballs then finished it off in the oven by melting some grated cheese over it ,, AND serving it piping hot ! Bless you Jan this was a cracker !
