Amazonian Swiss Maori lady was getting busy in the kitchen tonight knocking together a vegetarian korma soup/stew

    Dinner-20231120_194517-jpg

Looks quite striking with these Korean Paengi mushrooms

    Dinner-20231120_195212-jpg

She even came through with a fruit platter again as a starter and a splash of colour under a foreboding sky

    Dinner-20231120_195324-jpg

Stew was pretty yummy but those fibrous mushrooms reminded me of The Last of Us

    Dinner-20231120_201116-jpg

Butcher birds were not interested in the veggies so ASM fed them their favourite chopped hotdogs, and they rewarded us with a rare long warbling performance. I have only had a song performance from them twice and both times was under a leaden sky with rain falling. The grim outlook seems to bring out their inner artistic soul.

    Get down to Sainsburys, Chitty.
I'd like to see what you could turn one of these into(careful they're security tagged)

Are you supposed to leave that bit of plastic on....Pag...?

Harissa paste, olive oil, s&p, cumin, preserved lemons, 4 cloves of garlic, half a red onion and some yoghurt.

    Et viola

Optional. Could go in the bottom of the oven for a smoke effect....

Seriously, looking forward to the final product, possibly with a Greek salad and some pita breads.

What I'd give for a leg of lamb for £13.75 in Korat. I make that about 600 Baht, or three Frey Bentos steak and kidney pies.

    ^My favourite!

I wonder if Dill has eaten himself into a coma.

I would have had that leg of lamb with Armstrongs chips and beans personally.

Yesterday I had cooked chicken leftovers from.a costco chook so turned it into a sort of Mexican just adding salsa and Guacamole I also had a bit of beef mince that had the same treatment so I decided that was dinner . I had forgotten the tacos though so we used Bao buns from costco. They were OK but kinda sweet. Kids still ate them and are still talking to me so they couldn't of been to bad?

The bao buns were good but I fucked up trying to pair me knocked up Mexican with them. They would be great with pulled pork or something porky

^ Keep tortillas or wraps in your fridge or freezer. Some cheese or meat and cheese fold it over and heat it up. Great 5 minute snack. Put whatever you want inside. Good way for the boys to learn to cook.

    1. Tortilla
    2. Taco spiced meat
    3. Cheese
    4. Hot sauce or salsa (optional)
*** Dont use that silly canned chicken***

    Cook just like the video.

Bao buns are pretty easy to make, and of course you don't need an oven as they're steamed. Making them yourself obviously you can adjust the sweetness.

You're right about the pulled pork. That's how I normally have them, an Asian style pulled pork with pickled carrot and mooli (radish) and some spoons of Sriracha sauce.

Both bao buns and soft tortillas freeze well.

I did have the thermometer in it when it was 130 so could have had it nice and pink but gonna make a Rogan Josh out of most of it.

Made my first gravy without bisto

So yeah, not really one for the purists, but would possibly be like all Mendy's Christmases coming at once

    ^ I really can't fault that.

The missus loves a bit of lamb... maybe this will be the answer for a perfect Christmas dinner. I'll dust off the costumes when I get home.

I just need to find an extra short leg to fit in the convection oven.

Nothing wrong with goat..lovely stuff in a weird twist of fate Australian goat once considered to be pet food is now about the same price of lamb . If you can find it buy it. Most of it goes out for export

No mint sauce you Brummie heathen savage.

It's still alive and bleating , could have done with a bit longer in the oven.
