4th pic is meant to be the 2nd tho. Makes the story work as we made 3 pizzas. Bases were a 4 pack but we’d ate enough.

Miss Mindy works in Aged Care so she brought me a 'meals on wheels'

    Dinner-img_20220219_212521-jpg

I suppose I am knockin on a bit these days

She tells me it is Adobo...

    Dinner-img_20220219_212532-jpg

Visually it reminds me of Pedigree Chum, and when it was cold from the fridge it smelled vaguely similar too.

    Dinner-img_20220219_214017-jpg

But upon microwave resurrection pleasant pungencies were brought forth of honey soy and garlic

The daughter made a special request for my last dinner at home yesterday... shepherd's pie.

I used that tissue to wipe the rim of the plates after plating up.

I'd saved the dregs of a bag of Mont Clair specially for the occasion.

I won't be getting this in Bangkok tonight.

You are lucky to have your daughters with you. Though I consider myself a pretty good cook . My wife or her family wont eat most of my cooking, I guess their pallet and the tastes they find enjoyable are too different from ours. So I mostly cook for my self, and since I only know how to cook for an army. LOL, I eat the same thing for a week.
Though my brother in law and his uncle loved my chilly stew.
The shepherds pie wools fantastic , The ultimate comfort food IMO I will try making it one of these days

You'll probably find something to help get over the disappointment though

Looks like a dinner of champions from the photos Mendip

Your daughter is getting a cultural and culinary schooling to set her in good stead for life!

Go small and see if you like it. The one I found here was the 12oz size. It also makes great buffalo sauce.

    Smoked Haddock Poached in Milk.

    Here's fit ye'll be needin:

    Dinner-screen-shot-2022-02-21-21-a

Smoked haddock, a small chopped onion, 2 chopped garlic cloves, butter, milk, S&P.

    Dinner-screen-shot-2022-02-21-21-a

Place the fish in the pan skin side up, add the butter, throw in the onions and garlic and add pepper. I added some celery salt.

    Dinner-screen-shot-2022-02-21-21-a

Bring to the boil then simmer for 2 minutes.

    Dinner-screen-shot-2022-02-21-21-a

Turn the fish around then simmer for another 5 minutes

    Dinner-screen-shot-2022-02-21-21-a

    Plate it up

    Dinner-screen-shot-2022-02-21-21-a

Add some herbs, basil and Italian herbs for me because I had no parsley, dammit. Crank up the heat to reduce it a bit. More S&P.

    Dinner-screen-shot-2022-02-21-21-a

Add to the dish and enjoy.

    Dinner-screen-shot-2022-02-21-21-a

    Money shot.

    Dinner-screen-shot-2022-02-21-21-a

    Goes without saying!

I had haddock tonight also. Turned it into fish and chips. Mendy would have been proud as I served them with some garden peas (with mint sauce) on account I had no mushy peas. Forgot the photo.

This recipe looks good, thanks for sharing. No carbs?

Ya, that is the one. My favorite is the red label "extra hot".

That big bottle is not the American Crystal I don't think. Looks like some Arabic writting on it.

A typical American dinner tonight, medium rare rib eye with chips and beans.
    Not bad
