Don't get me wrong - it's great that you've moved on from Budweiser and, what was that other one?

    Schitzz?

Now if you can just master paying for a beer and that being the end of it, instead of all this "Hey! service was awesome - here's the 20% extra you'll shoot me for if I don't pay it" bullshit.

The rest of the world orders a beer, drinks the beer and pays for the beer + tax + service charge.

You fuckwits think you've got a better way.

I'm no great fan of IPAs, but I can always find something I like from the selection available in bars/restaurants in the US and the beer is definitely a big draw when I'm heading that way.

As Cy says though, the tips they lump on, added to the already hefty prices, make it a dear do getting pished up in the States. Eating and drinking in the US just isn't value for money as a tourist these days when you compare it to prices elsewhere.

I love it when I'm there though.

Edit: case in point, this is a beer I had in Greenwich Village in the summer after my half-hearted search to find the ghost of Bleecker Bob's:

$6 for just over half a British pint plus tips. What's happy about that?

It's a mcdonalds that's been on the back of a bike, wtf you expect it to look like? I could have tidied it up for you but I really don't care.

I'm glad you finally managed to fix the quote. You struggled there a bit didn't you.
I'd like to see what morning looks like
Don't wanna drink pint after pint
I wanna wake up without feeling sick
    But I can't cuz I'm a drug-abusing alcoholic

Ate out and had Turkish last night; I can probably count on the fingers of one hand the times I have been in a restaurant and not ordered hummus. I absolutely adore the stuff.

Cooking Korean (jeyuk bokkeum, stir-fried spicy pork) with a classic British twist at home tonight. Marinated overnight.

Just looking at recent threads and Willy has been doing quite well recently with his English. I reckon he'd be at least a 7 if he took the IELTS on current form, but I still think his reading needs improvement.

How long has he been studying English?

Hoisted by your own petard there mate!

Btw, did you notice the pork in my post above? When I posted that I thought you would have been onto it in a flash (knowing, as you do, the different parts of the world and their predilections)!

One has found himself a (British) pork dealer though: sausages, bacon, honey-roasted ham and pork belly currently reside in my fridge.

Nope too well disguised, you need to be more overt, a whole piggy head perhaps.

Rather you than me, that looks fucking horrific!

I hope you've put the toilet roll in the fridge for the morning!

The Turkish meal looked very nice though
