I have never seen chilli cooked that way. However, much to my surprise it seems that is how betty Crocker does her "Red beans and rice chilli" (albeit that she serves it with advocado rather than chips!).
No picture on the website sadly:

Years ago I tried a japanese place in KK (on a walk in). dragging my memory, but it would be in one of the main food areas (sorry a good few years ago).
But I can still vaguely remember it, as the place was fantastic. They had premium fatty tuna. Seem to recall that it was about 3,000 baht for two slices. Yeah, a splurge. But very worth it.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week: a falafel sandwich and a fried aubergine sandwich (with a mint tea on the side). Pickled chilies standard. Isright.
^
The look really good.
The only things I miss are pickles and olives. I do love falafel too.
Guess you must really like Cairo to be back there.
Egyptians seem like good peeps on the whole.
I always try to get to Soi 3 every now and then when I'm in Bangkok for a bit of the grub from round these parts.
Regarding Cairo, it's not an easy city, but I just felt that I didn't see enough of Egypt last time I was here. Plus, yeah, Egyptians in general are the friendliest people I've ever met. The odd nobhead here and there, but we have many more of those at home, so I can deal with the odd wanker every now and then.
He calls it the Aztec roll. Tempura roll with BBQ eel, fresh snow crab mix, avocado, cream cheese topped with spicy teriyaki aioli sauce and garnished with pico de gallo. Spicy.
The pic didn't do it justice, but I was too lazy to put it on a plate.
Yellowtail.
Only good eh? If you noticed, I am a bit of an eel lover as it is in the roll too.
I should note that I had a cup of miso as well.
If you have not done a lot of sushi eating, it helps to go with someone who is a bit of a sushi snob. There is a lot of substandard sushi out there. I try to go to a place that is owned by a native born or trained Japanese sushi chef. Thankfully, there are many of them in Seattle that have come over from Japan to work and open restaurants. We also have one of the best fisheries in the world here, and that is part of what attracts them to come here.
Gotta wake up those nasal passages.
I though I posted this but apparently not. Perhaps I posted on some other thread by mistake, or forgot to press "Post" LOL
would not be the first time.
So I am in heaven ,
I just discovered Vila Market, located in Udon Thani about two hrs drive from me.
I have not been there yet, Will go this weekend, but according to their website they have many of the things I was looking for. They also have real Oscar Myer hotdogs and a good deli selection.
Wish me luck
