Well, it's homemade, but not by us! Dad just supplied the tamarind.

I have 3 jars in the cupboard, so I'm ok for a while, but I would like to make some in the future along with piccalilli.

I'm sure there are recipes online.

Right now she's making a chilli to freeze (based on Norton's Secret Beans, but 'manned up').

Tonight's 10 minute slap-up, Mackerel steaks and salad. Amazing how something so simple can taste so nice.

Not a mackerel fan, but that is very nicely presented. Looks damn good, the tartar sauce is nice and creamy and the lemon wedge is not window dressing, Nice.

Mackerel (Spanish that is; kingfish, not a sprat...) is great, just grilled or bbq'd. You wouldn't say no this AO:

I bought a couple of SA curry sauces, I'm not a cook, but I'll buy some chicken and potatoes (boiled and mashed with butter - any suggestions as to anything else to add?) then try to pull something together on Friday...

    These:

(I got the sauce, like above, but couldn't find the pic)

Got a beef chilli on the go in the crock pot overnight. The aroma is amazing. Shame i'm only allowed veggie juice during the day.

    Just a light lunch today...

Though why the hell I keep on buying supermarket 'mayonnaise' I have no idea. This shit tastes like plastic. I suppose it's a change from sugar glue that most of it tastes like.

Now that looks good Marmite. I just had a couple of scotch eggs and piccalilli, too lazy to go out and buy some decent bread otherwise I would have had something similar to you.

^Scotch egg - God's food. Love ém! Used to get some nice ones from Villa, but hard to get in Bangkok...

^^ aren't you bored of those dodgy looking pork pies yet, Billy Bunter?

The cucumber is past it's date, throw it. The cheese is a horribly bright colour (like Thai gold...), throw it. That white looking creamy sauce just looks horrible, throw it. Lettuce looks tired, throw it. Your knife and fork are the wrong way around, sort it. Bread looks dull, throw it. Beetroot looks ok. But, the way its all located in the top third of the plate is unnatural and creepy... If I'd bought that in a pub, I'd send it back...

Don't worry, Marmers, if I can get to the supermarket today, I'll cook up something proper to feed your eyes!

^^^forgot to add - the tomatoes look nice, although there seems to be 2 or 3 slugs/insects sleeping amongst the lettuce...

We've given most of them away to existing customers to try.

Tonight's dinner: Corned silverside, new potatoes, cabbage, carrotts, and white sauce.

Drop one of these into a pot of cold water, bring to the boil, and simmer for 1hr per KG. My kind of cooking

'Bout 70 mins later in this case, things are looking just fine.

With veggies added and a heavy hand pouring a thick white sauce. A good twist of cracked pepper over it all and the job's done. If only we could get this in Thailand, despite "Master Butchers" being as common as ex SAS around these parts . Not sure what the best part is with these things, eating it hot or the corned beef and pickle or corned beef tomato and onion sangas that will follow over the next day or 2.

I made a nice Murg Saagwala (Chicken/Spinach) the other night. My first attempt at cooking Indian with all fresh ingredients, (No tinned stuff or sauces) Turned out bloody tasty.

There are Indian Cooking courses available in Bangkok. Cheap too.

They have a special maid's training course to train your maid. It's done quite well.
