    These do look Great !!
are they prongs or shrimps, Here in Khon Kaen the prongs I have so far seen for sale have a huge head and small body. But I do like the taste of them better than shrimp . The ones in your picture don't seem to have such huge head and plenty of meat.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

^I don't even know what a prong is? These were simply local prawns caught in nets overnight offshore here, it's possible to buy them straight off the boats as they return to shore each morning.

That's what M'Sahib buys from a local market on Cape Panwa here in Phuket, much larger and tastier than farmed prawns.

Possibly one of those weird, weird things that BB comes up with from time to time.

Yeah not a fan of farmed prawns either, especially those fresh water ones with really longer blue nippers. I'd call the ones in my pic School prawns but they normally have Kings and Tigers too.

Going off topic as we tend to do here, there's a free pitcher of pool water prize up for grabs to whoever can put me out if my misery as to what this is. It was a free promotional item taped to a bottle of sauce I bought yesterday, had no idea what it was at the time and am none the wiser now! It's made of some thick rubbery material not unlike old fashioned hot water bottles! Thought it might have been for marinating but it's too small and why would a bag for doing that need measuring marks? Fuck nose, but unless someone can give me a use for it the bin is its destiny.

    ^

Obviously used for measuring (looks like a bag), and if silicon, could be used as a pad for picking up and turning things on the grill.

Easier to store in the cupboard.

Ok can't see any reason to not bin it then, have got a few measuring cups and several different sizes of ziplocks in the kitchen anyway.

It could be a marinating bag.

^It's too small, unless marinating about 4 chicken wings is a thing. Using a teaspoon as a gauge..
    Dinner-20210617_142408-jpg
But Pag mentioned the word silicone so off to Googen and sure enough, that's what it is. New to me.

It's for making a gravy or sauce in... measure and heat in one container?

Prong is the pointy part at the end of a fork.

I can never find them in Thailand. I always look.
Which macro is that? Do you supposed all Macros have them? I looked at the macro in KKC but I did not see them .
Maybe I missed them. I will look again.
I did find some nice eggplants. You know the real purple eggplants, not those round green things they sell for eggplants here. I will bake them with tomatoes and onions.

Maybe you don't have one - fair enough.

They were in the second Korat Makro this week. I haven't seem them for a while before this week.

Makro stocking is strange... occasionally we get the purple egg plants, leeks or even fresh sprouts. You can just never rely on it.

There were no proper mushrooms this week and I love mushrooms.

If you head down to the Pattaya Makros you will probably get a choice of many different kinds of courgettes and egg plants 24 hours a day along with a myriad of lamb cuts and imported steaks.

Mendy I asked you a question after your last dinner post. The thread blew up after that so you may have missed the post I made. I am curious for your answer...

It should be noted that those funny looking green types are closer in origin to the broadly native [indigenous to India] type used throughout Asia.
There is nothing that those highly engineered hybrid giant purple variety come close to "eggplant" solanaceca family resemblance.

    Conditioned ignorance.
Acclimation and experience might set you free.

I'll answer that question on my behalf then hopefully you'll shut up you pisshead.

The missus eats rancid, smelly and ridiculously spicy crap loaded with salt, nam pla and msg with fvck all nutrients
No wonder so many of her friends are dying of cancer and suffering from internal problems. This "food" is eaten anytime in a 24 hour day, no rhyme or reason.

Kids need structured meal times to fit around their school life.
Breakfast before school, a healthy packed lunch and a proper meal after school at dinner time.
Thai women generally are pretty hopeless at this and most family oriented stuff so the father has to be both parents as the Thai women will mostly be hands off when it comes to parenting, preferring the company of other Thai women.

Most days before furlough my kids wouldn't get there dinner till nearly bed time because their mother was busy

Having said all that, she is still their mother and kids need both parents.

It's not easy raising a family with a Thai and does require a lot of compromise on the side of the farang otherwise WW3 ensues and the children are upset.

Just my 10 cents on your question Snubs.
    Shalom
