I believe Nick is back this week.

only ever went to the old black swan and the food was good, but never really liked the place.
never even tried the new one.

cant remember i had a decent brekky in Bangkok. Hunter's Garden on 101/1 is good, but sausages are a bit hit and miss.

    it looks good at least
    we won it at wemberlee

Excellent to hear, I was never friends with Nick but went to his pub a few times and he was always such a great bloke, my father and he were born in the same Yorkshire town, so we used to chat a bit. Is the Pickled Liver starting up again? I hope so! I couldn't think of a more fitting end to say goodbye to that area with a pint at The Pickled Liver.

Naaaaa, this is Bangkok after all. I didn't even review the place, I feel sorry for the establishment more than anything.

Got a decent breakfast at a artsy farts wee place down the old town today.

Mrs had a different set from me cos she fancied some beans. I nabbed half her ham and bacon and added it to the second dish.

    135b each.

Because bacon-cheese-egg on a roll is a popular brekkie in the Big Apple. It's up to you if you believe this or not but I wanted to be a part if it.

    Why?

It's a great sandwich on it's own. I personally would have called it "Topper's Hangover Cure" and served it with a bloody mary.

    ^

Think I'd have gone for an open sandwich, with the bacon and sausage on the bottom, fried egg on top so the yolk when broken would cover the meat. I'd still eat it your way though.

I've been incredibly busy lately and today I just couldn't get out of bed. I'm usually up around 05:30 but I was aching all over and just couldn't move... maybe long Covid?

Anyway, after the daughter had left for school I said to the wife, maybe it would be nice for us to have a breakfast in bed?

    She's a good egg!

And so we enjoyed binge watching 'Death in Paradise' with breakfast and coffee.

Most enjoyable it was too. I don't know where the wife got to, mind.

To be honest boiled eggs aren't the easiest breakfast in bed to eat, but as the quarterly bedding wash is soon coming up I just went for it.

Marriage is give and take after all. I didn't even mention that the egg was upside down... yes, I've spent 15 years of marriage turning my boiled eggs over without a word of complaint. That's what being a good husband is all about.

And yes, to pre-empt any comments, tomorrow I am going around the house and cleaning every single fan guard. Sometimes it takes a photo to really see these things.

San Francisco sourdough. Before you islanders get all stirred up, that cheese peeking out under the bacon is Kerrygold not American.
