Been a while, and since we love pics here...

^One was enough, it was bigger than it looks in the pic plus I ate half a dozen during the peeling process as a QC check.

Made a prawn-cheese-spring onion omelette the following morning that was absolutely beautiful to eat, if someone here had them on their breakfast menu I'd be there once every week or two. Mine was not much to look at though, I fucked up yet again when it came to folding it in the pan

Much more difficult to do than it appears when you watch others do it. I very rarely get it right. I suspect that I might be a bit greedy with the fillings.

^Yes indeed Shutree, the filling are where it all goes wrong. No real problems most times with a plain or cheese omelette, but it all goes pear shaped once other ingredients are added. My other kitchen nemesis is poached bastard eggs, have never got even one right

Buy one of these, only cheap and perfect poached and boiled eggs every time. Some do omelettes too.

    Have a look on Lazada

It comes with a measuring cup which shows you how much water to put in to get perfect soft medium or hard boiled or poached eggs every time. The alarm on it goes off to tell you it's ready.

    It's a pretty simple idea.

When the water dehydrates the alarm goes off.

The more water you put in the longer it takes and the harder your eggs.

Saves boiling a pan of water.

The markings are a bit hard to see unless you hold it to the light but you only use about a fifth of the below cup for soft eggs

Only takes a few minutes, sit back have a beer and wait for the alarm.

Oh hang on, that's my urine sample jar

I haven't seen such overcooked binfodder since chitty's 'ribeye'.

Chuck the machine away,.. and learn how to use your hands to get them juicing all over you with just a single little nibble on their bun.

Is breakfast anyone else's favorite meal ? It's mine.

I'm considering investing in one of those egg poachers. But it's another item that takes up countertop space. I'll think about it. It would just speed things up when I don't have time to make a proper breakfast.

Smashed avocado on toast 'aye Dill? You must be an Australian based on this new evidence

As kids we had a pan that produced the same result as your eggs that looked like an older version of this:
    Breakfast-20220512_083454-jpg

But this, and what Cheddar's pic show, is the sort of poached egg I can't get right.

    Anyway, cooee cobber

^^ boil water and turn down to a simmer, add a dash of vinegar, stir water to form a vortex, crack egg gently into the water and leave for 3 mins fish out with a slotted sapoon. If you want to eat later, just fish the egg out in under 3 mins and place in iced water and pop in the fridge and when you want to eat it put in into hot water for a minute to warm up.

    Complicated i know.

have you just betrayed you are norvern?

Easy, as long as you're staying at a hotel that has a dedicated egg station at the breakfast buffet

Now those fuckers know how to poach the perfect egg to the point of trimming them with scissors to be perfectly shaped before serving them.
