Streaky bacon is only good for Bloody Marys and adds zero volume or panache to a proper bacon roll.

There wasn't a packet of bacon to be had in Makro Nan yesterday so I decided to buy a rolled ham shoulder to fill our traditional next day bacon and egg rolls breakfast. So this morning it was ham and egg rolls and they were quite good. Even after giving our labs a half slice each there was enough leftover for another roll tomorrow. At this stage it hasn't been determined if it will be mine or the wife will claim it. (Pan fried the ham.)

Edith and Edweena went out for breakfast so I shouted down to bring back a ham and cheese omelette.

    Yummmm. Plastic.

Finished off with the few remaining ribs from last night.

Break day from exercise today and back to bed.

If it tastes as good as it looks, you've won the lottery.

Fok it Friday. Guess it's technically lunch as it's midday.

Don't smoke, but may have a cigarette and afternoon sleep on the sofa after that.

I’d smash both of those for breakfast.

If we're still on the topic of streaky bacon, I can give you a Bogon Tip?

You have to bear with me here. It's not the streaky bacon, but the by product.

    Bogon Tip #532

Next time you go to a half decent hotel buffet breakfast, have a look under the streaky bacon and 8 times out of 10 you will find slices of bread at the bottom that is used to soak up that god damn beautiful bacon fat.

Do not let this opportunity pass you by. Take a couple of slices of the bread that has been soaking in that sweet sweet fat for the past 3 hours and run it through the travelator toaster thing they always have.

Voila, you have just added a fried slice or 2 to your brekkie.

...and taken away about 3 days of your life, but it is worth it.

    Yes!!!

Setting the toaster on fire from the bacon fat is a serious risk, some would say worth it!

It took me long enough, but just realised that if you don't clean the pan after Friday night's moo det diow, you can then use the pan full of fatty, seasoned grease and MDD flavoured oil to fry Saturday morning's bacon in.

Which takes the taste to levels that can only be described as insane.

And there was me thinking I was being lazy, it was actually a piece of culinary masterpiecery.

Today it was circular saw-cut black pudding with eggs.

This was the first time I've had black pudding for as long as I can remember, and it was delicious.

If I wasn't so health conscious I could eat it every day.
