Just to mix it up a bit, no bacon this morning but ham steak was a nice change instead.

Brunch, and a chance to try these out for the first time. New product being sold fresh in a few supermarkets around town.

Found a piece of ham and a sausage in the fridge. When you are hungry you can whip this up in 10 minutes..

Fucking 'ell, AO. Is that what you yanks call a sausage?

My dad would only let that past the front gate if the dog was taking care of it.

Headworx is pretty close to genuine sausage territory (ooo err) in the post above. I reckon he knows how to handle a sausage or two (double ooo err).

    At the back, of course.

To be honest, I'm a fucker for those things after a skinful. Wake up the next day and there's debris and sauces all over the kitchen.

    I feel mega guilty too.

Tip for Bogon #372: If you ever go there to buy black pudding and find they're sold out do not blame me

    The question is why?

In a country that does pork so well and beef so poorly, and presumably with no draconian Muslim constraints hanging over you. Why?

Ah...but do they do pork well....

For me the answer has been a resounding yes in lechon baboy (spit roasted pork), but the rest of it is quite crap. You can't go to the butcher or supermarket and get a bone in pork chop or pork cutlet as we know it. The bacon is simply thin sliced pork belly, not cured or smoked. Pictures forthcoming,

The reasons I bought the beef bacon were that it was cheap and I've never tried it before. Won't again.

Yeah beef bacon just doesn't work. Plenty of guys on this forum with bags of time in the MEA region, me included, where there's a massive market for beef bacon along with other oddities like turkey ham and zero percent alchohol beer. You'd be doing well to find any of them/us who think these Muslim pleasing products aren't an abomination compared to the real thing. Hence my why question Topper and your answer makes perfect sense. When grocery shopping we'll often see something we've never tried before and give it a go, there's only one way to find out if it's good or another beef bacon

Less fat and more protein compared to proper bacon but is an abomination like Turkey ham mentioned above and chicken fuckin sausage.

Talking of Muslim shite. If you go to McDonalds here, no one knows what a hamburger is. And if you wanna order a hamburger happy meal, you have to order a cheeseburger happy meal and ask for it without the cheese.

I can understand them getting offended by the word ham burger but why not call it a beef burger instead?

My mission tomorrow is to post up a picture of the 6 or 8 different hotdogs available at the 7/11 where I work.

The chicken dog is the only one I've found to be eatable, though I did buy a bottle of mustard to help disquise the taste.
