...^^bacon appears more thoroughly cooked than that of others on this thread...medium-rare pork strips aren't bacon; they're disease vectors...

Depends if it is English bacon or the American variety.

These factors are quite dependent on quality of pork and how one can be easily conditioned.
    Case in point.

Old Wives Tales and Kool-Aid should be taken together.

Seriously, how is this fucking spastic still allowed to post in food threads? Or any threads besides the one he spends so much time in where he cut and pastes Pinterest photos, allowing his carer some respite from screaming at him to stop eating crayons.

A trip out today, first time since......can't remember. First to Immigration, then a haircut, and finally a stop at the breakfast cafe just outside our village.

Not exactly the height of moderation.

and for M'Sahib, a couple of poached eggs on sour dough toast with some hash browns. Admirable restraint.

^ Took me 30 seconds to realise that it is not a Thai fruit with some pine nuts, but actually a cactus.

Knowing my missus, she probably still would have a nibble of it.

Once upon a time I was eating with a French friend in France and he told me that chicken and eggs, baby and mother as he described them, should never appear on the same plate.
I have never heard that from anyone else. Maybe it was just his own belief.

It is similar to the Jewish meat/milk prohibition, but I also have never heard of not eating chicken and eggs together before.

^^He was Jewish and was telling you about Kosher food.

    ^Beat me to it...

    But i'll add this...

Why do we not mix milk and meat?

One of the important aspects of observing kosher is keeping milk and meat properly separated. This prohibition is derived from the verse, "Do not cook a kid in its mother's milk." This verse appears in the Torah three times, twice in Exodus (23:19 and 34:26) and once in Deuteronomy (14:21). According to Jewish tradition,

Yes - but as far as I am aware, there is no Jewish restriction on eating chickens and eggs together.

    Scrambled eggs with ham.

I prefer it sloppier but the eggs went a bit hard while I was buttering the toast. As quickly as that.
