i have rice about once a week. i don't really like it. when i lived down south it was all thai food. and with me not being very adventurous it was chicken fried rice most of the week. pork fried rice to make a change some times...

luckily the wife quite likes western food. if not she picks some foul smelling thing in a bag on the way home from work.

Normal rice maybe 4 times a week.

The best bread in Isaan 5 or 6 times a week.

Spuds maybe a couple of times a week.
Please tell me where to get good bread

Sad innit? But there's always light at the end of the tunnel; you'll either come into some cash or die.

I can eat a lot of different things, as long as there is some variety. So it would include rice, either fried or with sauce or soup.

As long as I get some rye bread a few times a week. Probably would bake that myself. Don't know what Marmite would call good bread. Probably I would not regard it as bread.

But I would try for sure.

The Germans are not too fond of the Midget's rye bread as it has "too much taste" and is apparently "not dry enough".

They can continue to buy 5 slices of tasteless crap from Tops for 135 Baht - not a plomplem.

Have you considered writing a column for the Bangkok Post ? Like Michael Winner does for the Sunday Times.

Music to my ears! I thought I was the only Farang that did not like rice.

I eat it but would never pick it if I had the chance.

I love good rye bread but I have not found any in Chiang Mai. Funny enough, the rye bread here doesn't have enough rye taste and is too dry. Must be German rye.

55 baht the 5 slices I got from Tops the other day; went quite nicely with me Ploughman's style doorstop sandwiches; good cheeses at Central Silom/Chitlom.

Rice fills you up if you don't mind about the taste; which most folk clearly do... It's okay with a spicy dish, but an onion omlette on rice (that I was once served up by the missus) is a bit bloody crap...

No option forme. I would make my own. I can live any place where they sell rye flour.
