    Breaking in the Virgin

    Weber BBQ

It has been sitting in the condo for 3 months since a trip to Tru Value in Pattaya. I have some mates over for a golf holiday so why not fire it up.

Never used one before so why not go the whole hog, No basic burgers or fish just go for it!!

Off to Makro, pay 680B for a leg of lamb and some spuds, Marinate it in Garlic, Rosemary and Bunde for a day. This is what we ended up with. Lovely

I must admit I had some tips from the Gibbon, who did supply a lovely home-made loaf of rye bread for me to "dunk" in the dripping.

PS: Wish I could get the picture a little bigger!!

Webbers are a pain in the arse getting the charcoal going and regulating the heat. Much easier to use an electric oven. Same results and less work.

But I do have to admit that outdoor cooking brings out some primitive instinct for cooking that gives a lot of pleasure.

    Nice looking roast BTW.

I never really enjoyed cooking outside. Must've been all the fog & rain that put a dampner on it somewhat.

Getting the fire going is a piece of piss since those little solid kero blocks were invented.

Regulating the heat is a piece of piss if you use the lid with the vents opened.

It may be easier to use an electric oven, but the results are no where near as good.
