Chitown's Pizza For Eight Hungry Expats

Was meeting up with eight expats that all have healthy appetites. So we decided that pizza was the way to go!

    For the pizza dough -

2 bags of all purpose flour 100 grams each
dry yeast 8 teaspoons mixed a cup of warm water
    salt
    sugar
    oregano
    Italian seasoning
    olive oil
    warm water

    For the sauce-
    2 diced onions
    1 can of tomato paste
2 cans of peeled tomatoes ( i have found fresh Thai tomatoes to be a bit off)
    black pepper
    salt
    sugar
    2 garlic buds
    oregano
    Italian seasoning
    fresh basil
    1 pack of pork powder

Mix all of the dry ingredients in a bowl and then slowly add the warm yeast water. Then add another cup of warm yeast water. Also began to add oil and water a little bit at a time until the flour starts to form a ball.

Once the dough is nice and soft, then divide the dough into several balls. One for each pizza you intend on making.

Let the balls of dough rise for a few hours.

    Get the sauce cooking!!!

Simmer it until the sauce is smooth and thick.

Lightly coat the pizza pan with olive oil. Place the ball of dough in the middle of the pan and begin to work the dough in a circular motion to spread the dough evenly on the pan. You can slowly rotate the pan as you spread the dough.

Spread the pizza sauce on as think or as thin as you like and then add your favorite toppings. We make our own Italian ground sausage. Our other favorites are green peppers, onions and mushrooms.

I also made a few cheese only pizzas with this batch.

One of the biggest keys to cooking pizza is a proper oven. The oven needs to cook evenly and ovens in Thailand often do not. My oven cooks proper pizza that I am very happy.

I toss the dough sometimes, but I hate it when the dough hits the floor!!!

So do the people that are eating!

Last picture. Sorry about using photobucket. I spent a long, long time trying to upload some pics to the TD gallery only to have them rejected. Maybe they were too big.

I think this may be my last pic review anyhow.

With this oven, it is 8 to 10 minutes and I can do several pizza's at once.

Instead of bumping 15 year old threads, as much as I enjoy TD foodie nostalgia.

Why not not post up your own culinary cuisine?
