    Aye, can't beat it though.

With khao niaw and grilled chicken there is simply nothing better.

    Oh, and cold beer.

Keep that black crab crap out of it, though.

I'm not all that up on this stuff, but was recently introduced to som tam Thai (?) while in Bangkok. It's som tam but not spicy, and I really like it.

That'd be like eating a pot noodle without using the sachet and rather geh, I'd have thought.

^ I'm very comfortable with my sexuality to be honest. I don't need to eat spicy food to prove anything.

If I like it, I eat it.

It can be very spicy - it's Somtam Thai.

That means peanuts instead of black crab, not less spicy.

Central Thai style and what I eat as well. Does not have the PaRa in it so it is much nicer. But in reality not authentic to Isaan and Lao the originators of the dish.

How do you know you like something, if you've never tried it, like your Somtam Thai or Creme of Sum Yun Gai?

Fkin hell, is there an older gag than that related to Thai food?

It should have some high ranking patent or a f'kin coat of arms or something.

I quite enjoy all my foods spicy as hell or made as intended. Sure some times its a ring of fire the next day, but I sure enjoyed it the day before with an ice cold beer.

Som tam Thai is the only som tam I eat these days. Pla ra is some awful stuff and the crabs they mash up in there get funky in hot weather. Just say no to the poo. I even got a rotten Kai chem not long ago in my som tam. Was sick for a couple of days. That woman at the Issan restaurant I went to for years probably wonders why I stopped eating there.

Som tum Thai is the only style I ever liked. The black crabs stink.

^ My wife's stinks to high heaven, it's as spicy as hell and full of those little black crabs. God knows what she puts in it.

On the other hand I really enjoy som tam Thai. I assumed the name just meant non spicy som tam and had no idea it was because there are peanuts, so learnt something there. It also seems to have an orangey flavour?

Kor Moo Yang is the absolute business (what Cy said about Som Tam Thai I'd say about this), but that's pork neck.

Still wouldn't turn my nose up at pork belly.
