Yes I know, but my wife and her family love to cook on them, to boil sticky rice and to barbecue/grill their food. They even use them as a hotpot in the middle of food mats. I don't mind when they use charcoal but I'm not so happy with wood burning in these type of stoves. I'd much rather use a rocket stove, but can't get them interested in using mine.
Another question. What is this induction converter someone mentioned before? Is it just a flat steel plate?
Just discovered I can’t use my aluminum pressure cooker on my new stove. :(
^can't help you with that, misskit. :(
But you could do what someone (troy? shutree? Mike?) suggested - use a magnet to check which of your cookware will work on your stove. If it is magnetised, it'll work on your induction cook top. (I used a fridge magnet for checking.)
^ I did that. No go. Bummer.
Guess I’ll use my one burner hot plate. That will work.
Oh. Boo. I’ll use the hot plate with the pressure cooker.
I think that’s the better solution.
