For me the best hot dogs have proper pork sausages, burnt onions and HP sauce.

I'll tell you Yanks with your Hot Dog World Series what goes magnificently with that cheap plastic sausage and cheese you eat... Heinz beans...the Brit tomato flavoured one.
There's no teaching you uncultured fuckers though

I agree, Mr Dingle. There is no such thing as a "best hot dog" in America. I didn't eat many of them but those I tried were truly awful. I ate a proper burger in a small town in Texas and it was very nice. It was almost certainly prepared, seasoned and cooked exactly as my wife makes for us now. I enjoyed the food in America but their hot dogs were awful. Undoubtedly, some Americans will leap to defend these disgusting things by saying that I ate the wrong ones, at the wrong time, in the wrong place. This is not an anti-American thing just an honest appraisal of a food commonly associated with the USA. While I am at it, their mustard is awful too but most of their food is very good. And, some Americans are nice people.

No matter how they are dressed up they are still made of 'lips and assholes' or 'everything but the squeal'.

I do love an LA hot or Polish Sausage though. Did anyone else (AO) ever eat at Zot's? in the hills above Palo Alto?

Never tried it but the best kielbasa I ever had was at Seakor Polish Deli in San Francisco.

Probably why we use to call sausages mystery bags in Melbourne where I grew up.
