Reg Dingle giving advice about baking.
Like listening to Fred West talk about childcare.
:)
These things certainly ain't 'light and crumbly'. More soft and gooey, but the daughter was happy and that's what counts.Quote:
Rock cakes are a light, crumbly tea-time favourite. Eat while they are still warm from the oven. So easy to make, and lots of fun for children to join in too.
Those black things ain't currants either, the disgusting things. Half of these were chocolate chip cookies!
Excellent PAG, some fine baking skills!
PAG's a monster on the cooking threads; I wish I'd married him... :)
^ I hear that Chitty's available!
Even when I completely take a day off and spend it lying horizontal on the sofa with the dogs, drinking Leo and Ya Dong and watching a movie that I have no idea about the ending, I do like to still get something done.
So I first prepared a load of steak and kidney that simmered in the kitchen while I simmered on the sofa.

I like the daughter to continue with some traditional English fare while I'm away and all she needs to do is learn how to make mashed potatoes and boil some peas to go with the small, one meal pies.
There's also a big pie for her Birthday.
And one big one left for steak and kidney pie for dinner tonight!

^ Nice. But what's with the pastry cock and balls on the big pies?
