Roast turkey, turkey gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, stuffing and veggies and cranberry sauce. Lots of red wine.

The missus sisters and family will come over as always. There will not be a scrap of dark meat left - they absolutely demolish that.

My boy and I will enjoy a few days of turkey sandwiches.

I used to cook a roast, turkey or lamb, for Christmas but my mates around here have all grown wings and eat with the angels now. Noe lefy to cook for any longer and I can't be arsed to cook a big Western dinner for myself.

I was thinking of going out to a restaurant this year, but it just isn't the same.

I'll cook desserts for the kids instead...a healthy Christmas...for a change.

Got two hams and two packs of Irish pork sausages.
I cut a piece of the ham, to try as a coldcut and it was a bit dry IMO, I fried a bit of it and gad it with eggs for breakfast and it was real good,
I would rather the other one with a brown sugar/mustard glaze , perhaps a few slices of pineapple for benefit of our Thai guests. Or do you think, because of the dryness I should boil it?

The Arisg sausages were really good , I would certainly order those again. I had an Australian friend who lives nearby come over to have a couple of beers and we roosted them in the airfryer. They were excellent sliced up and a few cold beers.
Sorry I forgot to take pictures.
Will do so next time, or when I bake/boil the ham.

I am no orchidologist but I am sure I can tell the difference between sausages and chickens.
Chickens are the ones with feathers, right?

    I see the typo LOL
The damn "a" was way to far from the "o" so I went for another "o"

Thanks for the info BB. I have never ordered anything from that business. I have heard from a few they are pretty good shop. Was curious on quality.

You can make a glaze and then maybe put some water in a tray and warm it in the oven covered pretty tight.

Over here, most things western are experiments.

Roasted vegetables in the chicken juice came out better than expected yesterday.
Very sweet and tasty, far better than boiled.

Might try roasting sprouts, anyone else?

We have sprouts 3 or 4 times a week. I boil them with peas and then add butter, salt and pepper. Then use the veg water for gravy.

better off slicing them and frying them with bacon.

    other veg;

a day of two before make spiced red cabbage with apple, keeps well in the fridge so one less dish to make.

glazed carrots with honey and cumin seed

    dauphinoise potatoes

three i used to make every xmas as you could prep ahead and they require minimal intervention

Sprouts and Cabbage. Gas that can kill many small animals and demand some wall repainting.

I assume you are talking about Brussel sprouts.

Sprayed them with olive oil, sant and pepper and a light sprinkle of garlic powder and threw then in the air fryer for a few minutes, until they started caramelizing on the outside
They were surprisingly good. Come to think of it, I'll make some today.
I Have a bunch of them sitting in the refrigerator for a few days now, and if I don't do anything with them they will go bad.

So I made some of the ham today,
I only made a thick piece, about an inch thick , just to try it out.
Warped in tinfoil , and baked in the air fryer for 13 minutes at 400F
Then taken out from the alum. wrap and bushed on with generous amount of a mustard /honey glaze.
Baked for 7 min at 400f.
It was pretty good, I ate all of it, but it was still a bit to dry. I might be a bit spoiled coming from the US with chocs such as
Boar's Head, back bear, Smithfield, etc. But as I said to me it seemed a bit dry,
Next order I will try the Large Whole Gammon.
As I said the irish pork sausage was pretty good and certainly order more of those.
