I don't mind it at all. It retains the the rich bitter flavour of coffee. Admittedly withouth the depth of freshly ground beans.
But what about this. Do you prefer the same beans through an epresso machine or 'dripolator'?
What's the difference between an espresso and an 'american'?

    I know what you mean.
But to be honest I've never seen or tasted instant mashed potato or powdered eggs.
Do you buy your coffee in bean form or ground?
I buy beans and grind them myself. During the pandemic, with so much time on my hands I was looking at buying green beans and drying them myself but couldn't find a ready supply of green beans.

    I use instant mashed potatoes.

Instant coffee is only when I can’t get anything else and need the caffeine.

Coffee is coffee in my opinion. All tastes the same.

    I'd rather have a bovril.

    I hate snobs.
Wine snobs, food snobs, coffee snobs, music snobs whatever. Instant coffee's fine and it sure as fuck didn't make you 'hurl'. You may not have loved it but it didn't make you 'hurl'.
on the subject of snobs years ago i came across an album, a collaboration by Kid Rock and Snoop Dog. I'd never heard of Kid Rock but the music kind of rocked a country hip hop fusion that tickled me.

I had no idea about Kid Rocks politics, I just liked the music, but some 18 year old punck harrumphed like a music snob. Fuck that little mind.

We bought some civet shit coffee and put it through the espresso machine at work last year.

Safe to say it tasted like shite.

Then the seller kept hounding me to buy computer related items and in the end I had to tell him to go fuck off and die in a fire.

Tried it once years ago in Borneo, hard to describe but it had an aroma that reminded me of a damp blanket that had been stored in a cupboard for a week then a pot of coffee had be strained through it. Not pleasant.

This is my 150ml pot-bellied coffee cup which my mum gave me. I told her that it looks like what I think the inside of my mind would look like if I could see it.

I drink instant coffee in cold weather when I need the warmth of a longer hot drink in the morning. It's usually when I need several cups to keep out the chill. It's either lots of instant coffee or lots of tea.
