    TeakDOOR Pizzeria

I have never been able to find frozen pizza with anchovies so I went back to first principles.

    TeakDOOR Pizzeria-img_20220508_211054-jpg

This hit the spot but I might go for only 3 next time as the salty seadog-ness on every slice overpowered the delicate pesto notes.

^ looks great well done. I once remember Birra Moretti, as part of a marketing campaign, showing you how you can make quite a nice pie in a saucepan.

Anchovies have something in common with pineapple, they don't belong on a pizza

However, on that note you have inspired me to concoct a full Monty pizza.
    A world first quite possibly.
Not dissimilar to Dirks full Monty smoothie.

I use achovies in making a pizza base sauce, not on the actual pizza itself. This is for a puttanesca style sauce with black olives and capers.

My go to- anchovy, olives, onion, sliced tomato, generous oregano- a bit less of that buffalo mozzarella than loopers pizza, and shaved parmesan on top. If it's a good parmy, no need to melt it really- just add it fresh to the cooked pizza.

Cheating i know but for a pizza sauce i use puttenesca sauce from a jar, has chili, anchovies, olives and garlic which for me is perfect for the base sauce.

You need to chop up the anchovies and spread them more sparsely.
Speaking of which, remembering something I'd seen on the youtubes sometime and remembering correctly about how to make mayonnaise and thinking about a bottle of flax oil I had in the cupboard, (a gift from someone who I'm sure thought it was olive oil,) and having some time on my hands I proceeded to mix a cup of flax oil, an egg, a dollop of dejon, a pinch of salt and the juice of half a lemon and whipped that for a few minutes until it became the texture of whipped cream.
Damned if it didn't taste like a blend of anchovies and oysters. VERY STRONGLY.
    WTF?

This pizza is much improved with broken bits of anchovy

    TeakDOOR Pizzeria-img_20220514_221302-jpg

I did 1/3 with no anchovies to compare the flavour and the anchovy slices threw massive shade on the plain Margarita this time round

That looks great, but I would prefer pepperoni to anchovies.

I have never been a fan of Chicago deep dish myself. Prefer the thin crust, large slices of New York style pizza.

^ I prefer the thin crust as well. But that pizza is in reality a pie.

    ^^^

I enjoy deep pan also, reminded me to renew my acquaintance. Here's one I made some time ago. Cheese, mushrooms and green peppers on the bottom, tomato sauce on the top. Yup, falls under the heading of 'pie', and I guess a Calzone qualifies as a pasty....

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to PAG again.
That looks damn good. Seems like you replicated a Chicago pizza pie perfectly.

I cannot understand why you would not want the cheese on top.

You want it to be on the edge of toasting with slight crust developing and the cheese slightly browned in a couple of areas.

The inverted geology of the YooEss deep pan is a puzzle for me.
