"It was originally an English dish. In 1615, Gervase Markham says it is very popular among all people in England. By the middle of the 18th century another English cookery writer, Hannah Glasse, has a recipe that she calls Scotch haggis, the haggis that we know today."

And would you believe it wasn't the English that first invented Football, it was the Chinese

HJ Heinz is the first person/company to can/tin baked beans a dish created by the Native Americans and introduced to white settlers, and Heinz introduced them to the English, who went on to make them a staple.

The question was , "what is your countries national dish" not what food has your country invented or where a food originated from. A national dish is the food that is most popular there, and is historically associated with.
Italy's national dish is spaghetti which was neither invented in Italy or was first made there.
The national dish of England is Chicken tikka masala and I am pretty sure the English did not invent neither the chicken or
    the sauce. etc.

Chico is a troll, and so is this thread. This thread was created so that he could bleat on and on about everything the dimwit thinks was "invented" in England. He has a history of doing this, right down to a ton of bogus claims.

Haggis Dates back to something similar in England in 1430.

However, we are talking about dishes and not ingredients. Scotland invented Haggis neeps n tatties

There was a new discovery about the invention of football and written evidence of a game resembling football was discovered predating any previous literature. Football was invented/first documented in Aberdeen Scotland.

How did I forget Lorne sausage?
    Lang may yer lum reek...
