Well I am gonna do up a nice burger today. No lettuce or tomato in the house so we will go with. Ozzie beef, Thai grilled onions, some processed cheese that melts well, a Farmhouse bun, Hellmans mayo, and Heinz smoky barbecue sauce. Hope I remember to take some pics.
^I know right? If you were blind you'd never know the difference but it's not for me.
^ What does a black bun taste like? Does it taste notmal?
Don't give up so easy next time. The first try was not that bad actually, and the second was a home run. I know that most of you Brits like to deep-fry your chips. Try something different, even though I know ovens are not used a lot in LOS. I hand cut my fries take a sealable container and drop them in with some olive or avocado oil, salt and pepper give them a shake and bake them at 230c. I check them for doneness with a toothpick after 40 minutes. Usually turn out top-notch. An air fryer does them even better.
Mendip, that was a damn fine looking breakfast burger.
Any burger for breakfast is a winner.
good job Mendy
WTF is a black bun?
Burnt?
^No it's just a coloured bun, tastes the same but as they say we eat with our eyes first and these are not appealing to some of us. There's pink ones too, but I'm not posting a pic
I thought that squid ink was used to color the dough...
Yeah, charcoal or squid ink.
^ Very nice looking, how was the taste?
^Taste was really good, like a Pork burger but with the after-taste of Bacon. Will defo buy them again.
^ Why did you cut the ingredients part off?
It's pretty easy to make your own patties.
I thought about some beef burgers earlier, but had no patties, so decided to do something about it...
Ingredients
Half a can of Corned beef
Egg
Onion
Garlic
Potato
Carrot
Vegetable oil
S&P
Method
Chop all the ingredients up in the mini chopper, add egg and s&p.
Form some patties
Place In hot oil and carefully flip after 3 or 4 minutes.
Place patties on burger buns, add cheese and ketchup and devour
Simples
I must admit that I've never thought of making corned beef burgers before.
