    Soup

Well, looks like the Summer's finally over and couldn't find a soup thread on here.

So, to start off...an easy potato and leek soup

Heat the oil, brown the leeks, garlic and rosemary, chuck in the rest of the shit and turn the dial to soup and 10 minutes

^ Are you still experimenting with the new bread maker?

I could kick myself... we had chicken soup tonight but I never took a photo.

But, as luck would have it, I saved a bowl for tomorrow's lunch!

^ I'm all out of crusty wholemeal rolls at the moment so had to make do with a slice of Makro's finest.

Interesting recipe, I have always used equal weight of leeks and potato with an added onion and milk and cream.

I based mine on the BBC recipe ...

Sometimes less is more with a good soup.

Had a basic, chicken, carrot and potato dough the other day with a sprinkle of ground black pepper.

    Hit the spot.

Beuschel is a dish that is typically a ragout made from lungs and other organs, such as heart, kidneys, spleen, and tongue, from calf, beef,
It is often served with red cabbage, sauerkraut or seasonal root vegetables , ad usually a sour cream sauce and bread dumplings. It is a dish of Viennese cuisine but is widespread in all of Austria, Bavaria, and Bohemia.

Sounds awful but tastes delicious similar to an Oxtail/Muligatawney which seemed to have disappeared in UK with dumplings

^Looks really warm and yummy, Joe!

The potato and leek blended looks great as well, Dill.

I made a soup today in my instant pot.. Brown lentil and vegetable. It turned out quite well considering it was the first time I made it. Really filling and hearty soup.

    ^You are always invited.

Here is the recipe for anyone interested. I didn't have any spinach to add, but the rest was added. I'll add onto this thread over time as I'll be making more soups in the instant pot now that the cold weather is coming.
