    It's made from girders

‘Love it’: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gives verdict on Scottish favourite Irn-Bru | Cop26 | The Guardian

What say you, Dirk? Have you also been extending the hand of Scottish hospitality in the sooth of Thailand? Lots of wee Thai kids on motos swigging from cans of Irn Bru?

I've drunk a few in my time but it's not my favourite soft drink. It's OK for when you have a hangover.

I remember the old TV ad for it: "Made in Scotland frae girders."

Are they still allowed to advertise it that way these days?

    Me neither.

I was just looking for the ads and there doesn't seem to be anything recent. Two of my old favourites:

    Just came across this Hal.

I absolutely do sell the Bru in my bars. It's a pain in the ass when a Jock turns up and buys the lot tho, same with the Dr Pepper.

The advertising campaigns were absolutely brilliant.

The reason for the Goth campaign was that when goths started emerging out into daylight Irn-Bru had these adverts on the sides of busses and bus shelters saying "Throw your empty can at a goth". So you can imagine what happened, and it didn't stop at cans. Luckily, you got 20p back for your empty glass bottles so that limited the bottlings but they still happened. So the goth movement formed a committee and filed a complaint and protested for the ads to be removed. So Irn-Bru made adverts about Irn-Bru turning their goth frowns upside down.

The Bruzil Campaign was one of my favourites:

I think he's a marked man everywhere, can't stand the cvnt.

Infact he would be 20p well spent
