Well, you wouldn’t be buying tinned corned beef. That stuff is pre-chewed. Pretty tough stuff to lux up.

Oh dear... you're the second person who's accused me of being cynical this shift... it must be my reaction to long term confinement. I'll be my usual cheery self by March, after a few months back in Isaan with the dogs!

I also put in my vote for Corned beef hush.
    Love it.
When I was in the US, when ever I went to a Dinner for breakfast, I will always order , Corned beef Hush, eggs over easy and a side of Homefries . Fries and corned beef crispy. and a bottle of tabasco sauce please.
My mouth waters just thinking of it.
    east to make.

Onions, more onions, spud if you want and.... Tabasco. That lifts it. Chuck in some capsicums too, if you've got any.
You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, but a corned beef hash is an easy stir fry and quite tasty. Don't forget the onions.

...try my corned beef burger and rum recipe:

    1 80z tumbler of rum
1 tin of corned beef (250 gr)
2 medium potatoes (sliced and steamed)
    1 red capsicum
    2 cloves garlic
    chopped parsley
EVOO to coat an 8" fry pan

    1. heat the EVOO on medium
    2. add chopped garlic and sliced capsicum
    3. add sliced steamed potatoes to brown
    4. add burger-shaped corned beef to heat through
    5. sprinkle chopped parsley on the burger
    6. remove from pan with a spatula and toss over your shoulder
    6. drink the rum
Majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd

Chitty I am sorry but that hash is not something I would ever consider eating.

Take away the beans and you have this. A nice plate of canned dog food.

    Here's one I made earlier.

I was trained to stir the beans in... and why not stick an egg on top?

It is either dog food or the purée they feed the old folks at the local care facility.

I wouldn't know about that but the dog licked the sauce pan clean.

It does look like that , doesn't it ? But it does taste great. Even the Hormel Merry Kitchen corned beef hush is not bad.
I am surprised an Old sea salt like you don't know about corned beef in a can. It is truly the breakfast of the champions.
Must be all that gay beer you guys drink.
    Sad very Sad.

    Two tins of corned beef
    two medium size spuds
One packet of Batchelors spring veg soup mix
    One oxo cube
    Chopped onion

Put the tins in the fridge. Easier to cut the corned beef into chunks. Cut the spuds into chunks and boil them.
Add the soup mix, onions, add oxo then add the corned beef.

Eat with crusty buttered bread, like a thick soup. Very filling and simple on a winters day.

There is actual corned beef aka silverside, and there is corned beef from a can. That is why we call proper corned beef silverside, and tinned mush corned beef. You guys don't seem to know the difference! No harm with an egg on top, anyway.
