You do get small bottles of wine here, 7/11 and Family Mart usually stock small varietes of Jacobs Creek. The 'cooking wine' that I've got is the smallest box wine that I've found (2 litres), and doesn't take up much counter space in the kitchen.

When something is described as cooking wine, only use it for cooking. Beef Burgundy is very nice.

For cooking, get the cheapest wine available. We ain't the bluddy Ritz.
