Prefer my steaks cut thin a la Argentine. Don't add anything.

HP sauce is for cheese sandwiches

    Is egg a condiment?

Maybe it is just a basic ingredient; Steak, egg and chips is the Holy Trinity afterall.
But if the egg yolk is runny, does that make it a sauce? You can dip your steak or your chips in it.

Not that it matters, pepper (on its own or in a sauce) goes well with steak, egg & chips, so that's the most versatile winner. It's your can't go wrong option.
Some people think it don't, but it be.

Today's steak with Bordelaise and mushroom sauce...

What condiments go with your steak? Poll version-steak_bordelaise_mushroom-jpg

In a bit of a hurry and didn't leave the steak to rest, but still lovely and juicy.

Not really a sauce, just sliced mushroom&pepper fried in the butter juices while the steak rested.

Served with a potato salad and tomato.

Fillet steak was a fair bit thicker than it looks in the photo and really juicy as long as it's not overcooked.
