It is a big lifestyle change and I really like it which is important. No more sugar spikes and then crashes, no more energy slumps, no more pain from acid reflux. It really is the way to go for me. And I am eating a lot of good fats and healthy whole foods. My challenge is about persevering and keeping on track.
Didnt you start Keto 4 years ago?

There are still gems around if you look closely enough, though.

I'm not just focusing on the scale.

The real secret is refraining from eating too much and TOO OFTEN [per serving].
One doesn't require the deeper conditioning of "scheduled meals" three times a day. That's still overeating in most instances.
As a life form, we really don't need to consume too much for basic sustenance and nutrition.

I'm sure most don't get it.
If one is not sure, just browse the the breakfast, lunch and dinner threads [small comparative example] here to absorb a reflection of what is being consumed and how often they eat.

It sure as heck helps if you run twice a day. After 7k in the morning before 730 you need to get food and calories in you, just not too much. I was never a breakfast eater until starting exercise. Then I like a light lunch. After the evenings run which is shorter you are going to need food to sleep. Again heathy but in moderation.

Have recently fallen in love with homemade pumpkin chips.

Given that you can buy a pumpkin the size of xxxxx's arse for about 30 baht, they are, literally, as cheap as chips.

    This is actually very true.

In the blue zones (areas around the world where people live the longest) there's a marked difference in how long Cretan shepherds and farmers lived - although both groups live long lives and eat the same diet. The shepherds outlived the farmers by virtue if the fact that their's is year-round work while a farmers is seasonal. A shepherd will spend all day walking up and down hill slopes, and possibly adding a little extra cardiovascular work into the mix by way of shagging his flock.

But, yes, movement is key - something that modern lifestyles are geared toward less and less.

In terms of weight loss, keep it up MM.

There's something else we share too. We're all in fantastic physical shape, not an ounce overweight, bodies sculpted by renais, rennais, rene, old Italian sculptors.

Then there's the other group.... The fad dieters and panic gym buyers....

...and yet another group: those who don't particularly watch what they eat or drink, don't exercise beyond an occasional walk to the Seven and don't post in threads like this...silent, moderately tubby folks living contentedly without the need to offer endlessly repetitive advice or harsh criticism of others...they probably post in the literature and classical music threads...

Nah - more likely they've found a rather unremarkable picture on insta and feel compelled to start a thread with it.

    Thanks..

Trust me don't you not think I already know and have tried calorie counting? That is what Weight Watchers is built on.
Also, who has time for continually moving, especially when you work online.

Fact is, I went through a lot these last seven years, and it isn't an excuse, but I did get very sick, tore my miniscus, and generally looked to food for comfort and binge ate carbs. In regards to calories counting, I think it works well for many people as you have guys have shown, but it may not work for some.

Not ever calorie is created equal, and once I try to eat something not so good for me, I tend to binge. Sugar is addictive that is not a lie, read about it. So if you are calories counting it better be healthy enough foods. Not everyone can run, because of my knee I dare not at this stage.

This is an interesting read about counting calories. Also, what may work for you, may not work for me. If you are trying to switch me off keto that isn't going to work.

Want to Lose Weight? You Should Stop Counting Calories | Health.com

Also, read this about keto and the weight loss stories. Get a sense of the lifestyle these people are doing, and that many turned around their Diabetes eating Keto.
    600+ Low-Carb & Keto Success Stories - Diet Doctor

I know about calories in calories out. I have my own weight loss group I started awhile ago on fb, and have tons of friends I talk to about all this stuff. Sorry this isn't just to you, Slap. Just in general.

As we age as well our metabolism slows down, now pushing 50, I need to get moving more for sure. I taught pretty much the whole year online, as to why I quit that job and moved to in person teaching. I hate sitting for long periods of time.

If anybody on the forum is seriously looking to lose weight/get in the shape. The best thing they can do is:

    1.

    Listen to Slap.

    2.

    Listen to Ant.

I know you aren't, but some just act like they know it all and that's it lol.
I'll let you guys know how much I lost on Thursday when I weigh in if you want. lol
One of my best guy friends is calorie counting, but he just doesn't have the willpower to keep it up, when you are used to eating a lot of carbs, and stuff, it isn't easy for some people. He has issues too like arthritis that makes him not want to move as much. Everyone has their own issues, and hopefully will find their way.

For some it is way more than that, Edmond. Sorry, but you really need to talk to other people that have issues with weight and not just Ant and Slap. What works for one, may not work for another. Have a lovely day. Off to go do some exercise now.

Thank you Sir, it worked last time, but was put back on. Maintenance is often harder than losing.

Anhoo, I weighed in today and lost 2 pounds. I'll take that. I am on a Keto for women group and got taught by admin. that my macros were off. So, I am eating less calories now, more protein and less fat. I don't think ill be making anymore fat bombs.
