    Home made Guacamole

Had half a dozen avocados sitting in the fridge for a week now so decided to make use of them.

My first time at making Guacamole..

I decided to add a couple of cloves of garlic into the mix also.

So much for slice, dice and mash.

    Time to get blending..

I'm a novice when it comes to Guacamole, but for ten minutes work I made a healthy edible snack/starter.

Certainly not as bland as the supermarket stuff.

Looks good and still tasty despite the colour.

I heard you need to keep the stone with the avocado to keep it green and smother it in lemon juice.

Looks great, Joe! Love the stuff.

Those avocados will oxidize as soon as you cut them open. The trick is to use your lime juice on the avocado as soon as you cut them up. Keeps them from turning so fast.

If you intend to keep the guacamole for a while, cover it up with plastic wrap and push it right down on top so there won’t be any air get to it.

The only thing I would question is whether you used a blender or not? If so, I would have expected a much smoother mix. Taste is everything of course, and maybe grating some Lime zest into the mix would add another dimension. That said, you've provided an incentive to try this myself. Chapeau.

    What she said.....

It's avocado season here, we are having at least one or two every day in some form. Lime or lemon juice is the trick to keep the browns away.
