This thread has inspired me to pull my finger out and cook a rare treat for everyone.

The ingredients, note the lack of hash browns.
I did intend to buy some to appease our American cousins but thankfully the fickle finger of fate intervened and none were for sale.

Shit, I forgot mushrooms. Shall check the deepest darkest depths of the fridge.

    Time to obliterate the kitchen...

^ Good luck. I always thought that the absolute best thing about the full English breakfast was some other bugger cooking it.

Indeed it is, over an hour from start to finish.

A lot of effort for a heart attack on a plate, a bowl of cornflakes would have sufficed.

Used bacon chops instead of that wafer thin bacon you get in the UK nowadays.
The plummed peeled tomatoes were a good call.

Look, it's gotta be said. The best black pud comes from the black country, next to brum- that's known. It comes in a big sausage format, not pre-sliced and packaged in plastic from yer local supermarket! But kudos anyway- black pud with brekkie, you're most of the way there.

Exactly. Just bacon or sausages with eggs and a cup of coffee is no worries but once it gets to the point of having more than 4 or 5 ingredients that all need cooking at the same time and the effort/mess ratio is off the charts, it's time to say "come-on let's go somewhere for breakfast"

It gets worse Shutree as I do not remove the teabag even after adding the milk. I like a stewy brew and the lurking teabag builds its strength as you sip your way down.

This was the full option from our shop. 135 baht. Although whoever ordered that and uploaded it to our page must've asked for no mushrooms.

    That looks excellent.

Is that haggis next to the black pudding?

My wife had a request for white pudding about 2 years ago and since then has sold quite a few to regular customers mainly northern Brits.

I know nothing about black or white pudding but am told white pudding is a healthier option.

"Black pudding is a good source of protein, essential for building strong muscles, repairing tissue and maintaining an effective immune and hormonal system. It can also provide important minerals including an easily absorbed form of iron, essential for transporting oxygen around the body."

More iron in our food is no bad thing, as government surveys have consistently shown that a proportion of the UK population, particularly young women and children, have low dietary intakes of iron. This can lead to anaemia, which has symptoms such as tiredness, palpitations and shortness of breath.

"It also contains zinc for cell growth and immunity, potassium for balancing fluid levels and is sugar-free," says Hilary.

Why black pudding is a superfood (netdoctor.co.uk)

It is high on fat & salt though. Na, the main thing that holds people back is squeamishness.

I get both black and white pudding from a really good butcher near mine when I'm home, and white doesn't contain pig's blood nor seem to be as fatty.

I like them both but, contrary to what sabang says, the best black pudding is the world famous black pudding from Bury!
