Thought I would try out some tips gleaned from the thread so far in my fry-up evening breakfast tonight.

The Best Breakfast in the World Step by Step.: the Full English-img_20210125_220113-jpg

Tea is brewed just prior to serving so it remains piping hot till the culmination of the cholesterol smorgasbord (making sure to leave the PG Tips bubble poking up like a menacing Portuguese Man-o-war lurking just below the surface in the mug).

The Best Breakfast in the World Step by Step.: the Full English-img_20210125_220248-jpg

Beans were reduced a bit to thicken them up. Not sure if I did it right but I have to say I prefer the runny heinz tomato sauce that soaks into the hash browns so I think I will be passing on the reduction process next time.

I tried going with the beans in a bowl but it made me feel uncomfortable looking at them, in a way that it was difficult to put my finger on.

The Best Breakfast in the World Step by Step.: the Full English-img_20210125_221013-jpg

So they ended up poured over the snags as is my usual style.

After my big gay Sunday with bubbles and liqueurs I think I just needed to ground myself again before another push at exploring the fluidity of my sexuality another day.

^That mystery bowl contains pine nuts from the giant Bunya pines that grow near my gaff.

I picked up the giant pine cone cause it looked amazing after it fell off the tree. Then it dried out and disintegrated into thousands of loose pine nuts with wafer thin wings.

The other basket contains dried coffee beans from my coffee tree along with a book mark which Miss Solomon Islands wove one morning from my permanently un-mowed grass. It started off green and then turned brown. She teaches weaving classes back in the Solomon's now and keeps her cultural legacy and heritage alive and breathing. She wove the basket too but not from materials in my garden.

In three months in the UK recently, I had a full brekky probably 4 or 5 times. Teacakes, crumpets, toast, muesli etc most of the time.

Mmmmm teacakes. Another breakfast item from the UK that proves we are the bestest breakfast makers in the world.

Probably the subliminal thoughts of extra, and unnecessary, washing-up.

When I am served beans in a bowl like that, I tip them onto the plate anyway. Same as when I'm served chips in silly baskets, tip them onto the plate where they belong. Bowls are for olives and dipping sauces in our household.

You need bacon, Looper, and some fresh mushrooms ... and tomatoes ... and it would be a mighty fine breakfast...

    Phwoar! Proper bacon.

Brown sauce or tomato though, that is the question...

    Brown. Strictly.

I like smoked fish for brekkie, and wish I had it more often. Must be wholegrain toast though, rather than white. With poached egg, obviously.

When away in hotels on business i get a mischievous pleasure out of getting in early to breakfast, ordering kippers or smoked haddock and bolting it back and looking at later risers wrinkling their noses as they enter to the smell of fish.

I used to love bacon cobs with the addition of a couple of tinned plum tomatoes...squidgiliscious, as Edmond might say.

The Brits consume far more bacon per head than any other nation. And to think ignorant people criticise pommy food.

Gays pretending to be real men might eat them out of the tin, the rest of us like them on the plate with the breakfast.

I never knew that, but the old adage is true: bacon does make everything better.

I second that, smoked haddock breakfast at the Queen Vic on Soi 6 Pattaya, wholegrain toast would have made it even better.

Also enjoyed the Mahi Mahi and eggs they serve in Hawaii and caviar for breakfast in Norway, and smoked salmon eggs benedict with green tea, at Chu's in Bangkok
