Thanks, Auntie Dillie! So easy. All the ingredients are in the kitchen to make this today.

Yup, even a child could make it.

In fact I did, back in ‘home economics’ at school in the seventies

What Dil forgot to mention is that his daughter cooked that.

The only apples this fella knows are in his bottle of White Lightning, the Brummie tramp.

I think it's called Frosty Jack nowadays. I was always a Thunderbirds or 20/20 kinda guy. I can imagine you and Chitty sitting there in the bus stop sharing a carafe of Lambrini

I haven't eaten apple crumble since my mother died, nearly 20 years ago. Blackberry and apple crumble after a Saturday afternoon picking from the hedgerows was a late August and September ritual throughout my childhood.

Thanks for the memory jog ....

Looks good, and glad to see you put no cloves in... they spoil it for me.

Birds custard powder and a sieve to pour the custard through is what you now need.

And careful while you sit back 'relaxing' tonight cos I'm sending the gardener round to mow your lawn!

Yep, looks good. I enjoy a good crumble. Apple, blackberry, anything.

Home-made custard isn't too difficult. There's plenty of videos on Youtube to help you and give you confidence.

Should have popped into his kitchen while he was out, and scored some cinnamon for it.

Funnily enough, that was what I imagined when I posted. Except the bad tramp in the bus stop was you on the cooking sherry and Tennents Super.

Never tried it. The dough is a pain in the ass to make.
Linzertorte, Prager Nusskuchen & Dampfnudel are my specialty's.

A dash of rum would add depth.
