Got me beat. TBH I haven't tried anything cooked in an Air Fryer, or seen any photos of food done in one that make me want to buy one. Not seeing any advantages over putting food on a wire rack in an oven so it's not cooking in its own fat, but still using 360° dry heat in the cooking process.

Cook steak in mine as well. Big fat bone in pork chops, roast beef, stuffed chicken and even guinea fowl from neighbor.

Roasted pork in the Otto in this concoction.

    Tasty roast pork dinner.

    All come out great.

Air fryer is simply a smaller more portable convection oven.

That was going to be my next question ........ wht's the diff.

My BiL has a convection type (glass bowl with a heating element in the top) that has turned out some great food, but nothing better than my 3k oven.

Tom, do you think you could bake a lasagna in it?

Inspired by this thread, and while on Amazon.com last week inotice the deal of the day being an air fryer at 43% off and pressed the " buy now" button, since then I have been airfrying everything that would stand still long enough to air fry. My dogs run away and hide when they see me !!
    This think is fantastic.

Frozen pizza from freezer to table 10 minutes.

Meatballs 15 min in the air fryer

and then boiled in home made tomato sauce for over an hour, served with rice.

^ The top picture is a convection oven, the bottom an air fryer if I'm not mistaken.

Buck, how did you fit a frozen pizza into your air fryer? Did you have to cut into pieces?

I think that an air fryer is simply a compact convection oven, this particular one comes with several attachments.
It has a basic baking tray that is 10 inch by 10 inch, a roasting rack , a grill grate crisping basket, and a thermometer that when activate the oven shuts off when the internal temperature of the item being baked reaches the set temperature. for instance for a whole chicken set at 165 F
A Small pizza like the one in the picture fits snugly in the baking tray with the grill grate. I trimmed one side of the pizza that was not perfectly round 1/4 of an inch.
below is a link to it on Amazon if you want to see the specks.
    https://www.amazon.com/inteligente-i...8644826&sr=8-4
I got it for a lot less because it was on sale for a couple of hours.

My wife just mummified a whole chicken! I told her to stick the thermometer probe in the thickest part of the chicken and set it to 165 F internal temperature and 350 F oven temperature. I went out to work in the garden, when I came back she said she had put the chicken back in for another ten minutes, I checked the internal temperature at the thickest part pf the breast with a spare food thermometer , and it was 210 F . I ate of it ,what I could ,and smiled all the way.

Wait that did not come out right. LOL

Good that you had the sense to get the smile bit right, otherwise don't know about your end but here it's a 3-10 day sulk as I turn invisible with no food no talk no nothing.

My latest stab at diplomacy was over her first effort at lamb biryani and onion bhaji, which I usually do a couple times weekly takeaway or delivery from a local cuisine, so she thought why not give it a try I know he'll love it. Well I bloody well did love it, I mean who wouldn't like their throat assailed by lashings of massala and onion ash, while she hovers pot in hand ready to dish out seconds!

I bought a Crux 6.5 qt AirPro Cook & Fry from Macy’s that looks like Darth Vader’s helmet. It is an air fryer and a pressure cooker. Does both things very well, just change out the lid plate to swap between pressure cook or air fry. I paid about $60 for it just after Christmas otherwise they try for $200.

Count your blessings that she didn't put 7 teaspoons of sugar in it along with a nuked egg on top.

Tbf her second effort was much better, still a bit heavy with the masala, but by later this month I expect we will stay with home cooked as opposed to deliveries. Problem as ever is with the rice; I prefer basmati while she was weaned on that stuff her ancestors grew.

^That's not an air fryer, right? Says convection on it.

I got an air fryer yesterday. It is a pretty small one, but works well. I've cooked a hamburger and chicken wings in it thus far. This thing is the next best thing since sliced bread!

I bought some yummy appetizers that are about to be cooked in the air fryer. Mushrooms stuffed with cheese and shrimp wrapped in bacon.. think ill make a few of each. Pics to follow.

Have a look at Squirrel's post earlier in this thread. I don't think there is much practical difference, except intenal volume and the fact that the smaller version is black inside, which takes me back to my schooldays when I didn't understand black-body radiation and I still don't.

^Oh, I've never seen an air fryer like that. I got a smaller other black one. It is good for one or two people. I don't need a big air fryer. I got this from a friend for $35 bucks, great deal.

Cooking my new goodies.. stuffed mushrooms and shrimp wrapped in bacon. Good for the keto diet.
