Well spotted. I was doing a Blokes' Cookery shortcut. I put the Oxo lamb cube in half a cup of water before adding it to the pie. I thought this would help distribute the flavour more evenly. I then planned to use the liquid to save the trouble of making gravy.
It worked out okay although I'd have liked to have cooked the whole pie for longer, which I couldn't without overcooking the crust.
    It's a learning process.

I shall investigate the Tesco frozen foods more carefully next time out.

^Yes I've actually Googled how to serve fish fingers and see what you suggest is popular these days. Will give that a shot, bought a 12 pack and just wanted to get the cooking time right for now with a few of them. As kids we'd eat them with chips, salted and splashed with vinegar, and that's what I did today.

Don’t you dare! Air fryers are something your wife should buy for the house. Deep fryers, too, if she wants you two to be fat-asses and die of a heart attack.

Better Christmas present for wife is something like jewelry or clothing. You can even put it inside an air fryer to surprise her.

A week before XMas, had a conversation with M'Sahib about Air Fryers. Transpired that she'd been researching them also (probably in preparation of the inevitable New Year diet). Anyway, she ordered the model she wanted from Lazada (best price found), only for the order to be inexplicably cancelled (by Lazada) after about 5 days. Advised to reorder, which she did, and was then promised delivery by the actual supplier before New Year. Didn't happen. A pissed off M'Sahib went off to Central Festival this afternoon and got what she wants, albeit at a higher price than she'd originally bargained for. The one from Lazada was on a COD basis, and I'm sure she will be delighted to refuse delivery if and when it does arrive.

A bit bigger than I thought, though it would take a small chicken. Next to what is a standard rice cooker for size comparison.

Guess we're going to be spending quite a bit of time poring through the instruction book before we use it in anger.

I might be careful about cooking pork in that one.
