Ok, Topper I'm not convinced as I've never gone to the philippines for the food. but if there's some kinda variety of food cookery going on in the provinces then that can only be a good thing. For Filipinos and foreigners? D Filipino diaspora certainly get around and perhaps they've gleaned some culinary ideas. I'm guessing that the corned beef in a can is still on the menu though?

Corned beef is hugely popular, we buy ours from a guy who makes it at home. Damn tasty stuff, the wife makes hash with it.

    Here are some examples:

Today we visited the "Cold Room" for lunch. I added a link to their facebook page for BLD....

We started off with waygu beef chunks with a dipping sauce. The tenderness of the beef was amazing, as it should be.

The wife had the pasta Arrabbiata, which was a giant portion. I thought it was a bit under seasoned, but we brought the leftovers home for a light dinner and after sitting for awhile, the sauce was quite spicy.

    Damn tasty stuff

it’s waygu. You need to cook it past rare in order to render the fat.

My God. That does look tasty. I recall when shawarmas first made an appearance on the scene in the philippines no doubt introduced by returning ofw ,s from the gulf . The tastiness and ease of obtaining 1 or 2 as you exited a bar made them the perfect food for drunks
