Betcha they were Danitos flour tortillas. Those things stick like hell. They must put them in too hot and then the condensation gets to them. The Mission and El Sabor are more expensive, but much nicer, thicker, and as HW says they never stick together.

I had some of those Mission Wraps (in the West)

The instructions say 'use after 3 days' ... fuck me ... after 3 months in the Fridge they were still being consumed (and they were fine).

Last few days I've had a 'holiday' from my diet, this at the behest of M'Sahib just before and after my vaccination. So, steak lunch it is then. Pan fried striploin with a mushroom and red wine sauce, sides of roasted potato with rosemary, and garden peas.

Seasoned and into a hot skillet.

Three minutes each side usually works for me.

Laid to rest and get on with the sauce.

Softened some onion, added the mushrooms.

Added the red wine and allowed to reduce. At the end added a knob of butter to give it a shine.

    Potatoes out of the oven.

    and there you have it.

It's a brand name not real "french fries". They're crisps.

Your attempt to talk shit about a sandwich with crisps is pathetic. Quick! To the balcony to burn some lamb!

M'Sahib on lunch duty for me today, rustling up one of my perennial favourities, what she just calls 'chicken with yellow rice'. It's much more than that of course, and I particularly enjoy the garlic slices that have been fried until almost caramelised that you sprinkle on top, and lashings of a sweet chilli sauce dribbled over it.

I asked her what its proper Thai name is, and the nearest she could come up with is 'Chicken Biryani', and having made a few biryanis myself, I guess is not a million miles away.

Been ordering it for 25+ years and never once ordered chicken with yellow rice, but what is quoted. Its always come and been just fine. Mabuba in Don Muang make the best I have had. But their spicy mint sauce is what makes it for sure.

No doubt. They'll immediately know that you don't speak Thai, so will be expecting mispronunciations.

Got the trots the second time going there, which was a pity really as it's a good food option in a locale that's quite devoid of them.

You do, it would also be really cool if you don’t mess up this thread with your butt hurt just because one poster pointed out the lame sandwich and anaemic looking fries and I agreed with him.
