^Same sorta thing and menu items as KFC, but way better and less oily in the opinion of many including me. They've got some great wraps too, there's one with spicy chicken that's the bomb
Would think they'd have a branch where you are somewhere?
^Yeah I'd eat fried chicken once every 2 or 3 months on average but when I do, its got to be from Texas Chicken! Try it, trust me.
^ As a Texas Chicken fan, I can tell you that they are only as far North as Ayutthaya and Chonburi to the East.
...according to Google maps.
When I lived down South I once went to KFC so much that a girl working there turned up at my door with a gift basket.
^ It's only 2 days ... still have a wicked wing and an original piece in the box for Ron
They opened a branch in vientiane a couple of years ago. Looked like they were doing well. Not much fastfood or fast anything in Lao so sure to be a crowd pleaser. Me, the missus and kids sure liked it
Bought a 2kg whole Aussie ribeye (550 Baht a key from Macro) and wasn't disappointed with the purchase.
Cut a couple of steaks off the small end that'll go with eggs and 'shrooms for brekkie tomorrow, and decided to do a ribeye roast with the rest for a change.
Did a butchers tie on the rest of it to get a more even shape which will help with even cooking.
Then put some colour on it off before popping it in the oven.
Came out ok.
And onto a plate with some favourite low-carb sides.
Just simple and basic home cooking as usual, but it worked out well and tasted great
^ That looks great.
The sides?
I'm thinking one is mashed pumpkin but what's the white and green one? I'm forever trying to find new veg dishes for the daughter and I reckon she'd go for that.
Yes mate mashed fuck-tong is correct, but with a ton of roast garlic in it. I put a heap of garlic cloves in the oven tray with the beef while it cooked then squeezed them all out into the pumpkin before mashing it. The other is spinach and if I had kids, this method would get them to not only eat it but ask for it! I just cook the spinach and put it aside, then melt a combo of cream cheese and coconut cream together till it thickens then stir the spinach into it. Add some chili flakes or powder to taste if you like (I didn't today though) and its one of the tastiest sides I know of.
^And why not! It also works for corn, and probably about 100 other things I've never thought of adding to it.
Nice one HW... I'm gonna give this a go.
Cream cheese and coconut cream veggies...
Wait till Auntie Eddie hears about that
I find a chopped spinach or silverbeet mixed into an bunch of eggs and then baked like a frittata or quiche works well for kids.
ETA - like this Silverbeet frittata recipe : SBS Food
Kids don't need vegetables. It's a myth like covid and pension schemes.
For some reason I've mainly been eating nothing but steaks with no sides for the last few weeks. Sometimes salad, sometimes too lazy.
Guess one reason is because they're steaks. And steaks are the best food ever to be fooded.
salt, pepper, olive oil, into a searing hot skillet for less than a minute. Turn, remove, rest for a few minutes. I don't believe there is an easy:tasty ratio better than this.
^ Looks like something off Alien
So does yer gut.
