Linguine Bol for lunch. It's another dish I'm very happy to go out to eat leaving the cooking to some hairy bastard who makes it for a living, but under the current circumstances...

I was planning on leftovers from last night's spaghetti carbonara for lunch, but when I came in the bladdy daughter had already nailed it.
So an emergency lunch... don't know what you'd call it but it wasn't too bad.

Another Isaan Sunday lunch here, including a 50cm long bean from the garden. They don't come much longer than that!

The gardener made the larb moo, my current favourite. I love the stuff and his is way better than from the local stalls.
Did I mention that he used to work in Dubai catering for Thai construction crews? I've decided to make use of all this spare time and learn how to cook Thai food properly, but starting tomorrow. It's a bit hot today.

Yea - larb moo is wonderful - solidly in the favorites column :)
^ & ^^ agreed. My Mrs makes it with liver added, those tiny garlic cloves and quite a bit of gravy which is great for dipping the sticky rice in.
^^^ Is there no chili in that?
You need to man up:)

Was going to make butter chicken for the first time but found I was a couple of key ingredients short. So launched into a spicy creamy chicken dish of sorts. From memory salt, ground pepper, turmeric, ground cumin and paprika were the spices. Tossed the cubed chicken in the spices before browning it in olive oil and butter, took it out of the pan then added onions and a bit more of the spices. Chicken back in, added cream and green peppercorns, simmered for 30 minutes before turning the heat up to reduce/thicken it. Served on Makro sourced naan bread (three pieces). Was surprisingly good, and enough left over for breakfast tomorrow served on thick toast.

^ you aren't worried about special sauce mendip after gardenergate
^ hey, terrible minds think alike... :)
^^ do you think he jizzed on it during the cooking process to teach you a lesson? :sorry1:
^^ that looks very nice, Bogan.
Betts, i was trying for a bit less graphic :)
^^ I don't really see what lesson that would teach me to be honest... other than to do my own cooking from now on!
Prawn fried rice and roast chook. Strange combo perhaps, but it was a nice lunch :)
